I'd get some short strand fiberglass filler and do a skim coat and sand smooth. Should fill and re enforce your repairs.

Cleaning up the left front turn signal lens. These clear plastics have a tendency to get crazed: turn a milky white inside. I wish I would have taken a “before” photo. It still doesn’t look super duper, but it does look better. I used a Rain-X headlight restorer kit that comes with a polishing paste about the consistency of toothpaste, and some fine grit sand paper. I’m going to work on it some more. Note: the right hand and left hand turn signal lenses are not perfectly interchangeable. They have unique part numbers and if you look closely they are slightly asymmetrical top to bottom. I bought an NOS RH one and am using it on the LH side, and while it looks better, it does not seat in the sealing surface correctly. Don’t regret that I bought it, but still kind of a disappointment.

Here it is with the oily “sealant” on it. A person would probably have to spray this stuff on it every couple of months to keep the milky look away. Looks much better than it did at first. Not much you can do about internal stress cracks but they are much less noticeable.

Good work on the lenses.
I wanted to let you know about PlastX made by Meguiars. I put a thread called cleaning products with some photos. I had good luck with the clear lenses on the front of my 69 Imperial. I also used it on the tail light lenses. I would highly recommend it.

Thanks for the tip I will have to check that out. I have not found the Rain-X to give results that last very long.

I really don’t know. All the originals that I have seen are faded to a matte finish.

Yeah me too, that's why I always wondered why people wanted woodgrain, but if it looked that way in the showroom even I would have opted for it..

Thanks everyone for the kind comments. I opted for the woodgrain not really knowing if it would look good or not, and also knowing it would just be an approximation of the original. I am very pleased with the results.

I owe thanks to Steve and his friend in CA for sending me close up pics of the art on the car he used to have. Those photos were used as reference by the digital artist at the wrap vendor, for reproduction. When I saw the word “Monaco” reproduced in cursive script, my mind was blown. The vendor did good work.
