As I was digging around in the car, I found this broken hose. There’s several disconnected vacuum lines next to it as well. Is there something that supposed to go here for the auto temp? It’s a 19 68 Imperial.

That appears to be a drain hose for the heater / AC box that is located inside the car. When the A/C runs, water - condensation will occur on the coils, it drips down into a pan or the lower portion of the heater box. The hose you see is to allow the water to drain out. The open end should be pointing down. As a maintenance item, it is good to check that this drain is not plugged or clogged. This will allow water to build up in the heater A/C box, possible aid the growth of nasty smelling mold and or allow water to leak into the interior of the car, usually around the passenger side of the floor.

That makes sense, but if you look at the end of it, something has broken off. I’m not sure if I need to repair it? There’s also several vacuum lines that you can see in the picture that are right next to it. They just end and don’t go anywhere. I assume that those were meant to be hooked up for the auto temp? I’m just not sure where they go. There’s nothing there.

on my 68 Fury the housing of the heater fan motor has a hole in the bottom and a right angle rubber hose connects from that hole to a tube that sticks out of the firewall under the motor...I've always assumed it was there to blow air into the fan motor to cool it...

If you look in the picture you can see one of the vacuum tubes that is disconnected. it also looks like my plastic hose coming through the firewall is broken on the end. like it should be attached to something.
