A car you would buy if it came available. Upload from archive.

It's got the right stance, wheels, tires, and I can hear it now. Might be plasic, but it's still cool.

Saw this one at Volo in June.

It sounded oh so good!

Hey Doc, I just ran across a photo of that local 1960 Pontiac. I'd have to say it was taken between 1979 and 1981. Someone installed a set of the Pontiac 8 lug wheels on it, which look quite good in person, but tough to see in photo. It was for sale at the time, and it looks like the price was $2700.

Here's a real beauty that was on ebay back in 2012. Only 5,700 original miles. I absolutely love the colors on the car, both inside and out. All it needs is a set of the Packard wire wheels to be perfect.

By far - Steve Lisks ‘71 Challenger featured on the cover of HotRod Magazine back in the 70s. Claimed to have been one of the 3 fastest street cars in the world at the time.

I know the PO owner died a few years ago and it went up for sale $90,000ish.

Fills my boy need of a uneconomical fast street car. As a kid I always loved this and have collected as much information as I could about this car. If the time is ever right and I have the funds - I’d like to build a near clone. Lenco and all. 440 instead of 426.

A true Detroit legend.

5700 miles?:wtf:
Where has it been?

To church on Sundays?

My answer may sound silly, but is is possible. I know that the car was originally from Lancaster, Pennsylvania, and it wasn't unheard of for farmers to have a special Sunday car that was used only for church and special trips. The eBay seller was a dealer who just recently bought the car at a Barrett Jackson auction, and didn't provide much history on it other than the copper areas had been repainted and the rest of the car was original. He said he had lots of original paperwork for the car, but didn't provide pics. There were no bids the first time around and I don't remember if I watched it after that. Considering his asking prices, he probably got a real nice deal on the car, around $20-$25K, since most of the classic car dealers start out trying to double their money on what they sell.

That`s not silly at all. I have heard of old ladies preserving their cars, too. By now, it sounds nothing else good for us car hobbyists.

I'm just gonna place these here...

Seeing his Newport reminds me of another car I’ve been following. I don’t remember who it belongs to. But as I recall it belonged to a member and he sold - and now belongs to another member. Nevertheless it is a beaut! Thing looks loaded! I think it’s even a 440 TNT IIRC.

Oh mama. I’d sell 2 of my cars right now to have that in my garage!

Otherwise this is lovely, but I think that a car this big should have either a bench or a buddy seat.

I’d like to find a nice ‘71 or ‘72 Charger for a reasonable price. I had a stock ‘71 SE, 383, 4bbl torqeflite, with buckets, rally gauges, console shifter. White half vinyl over blue w/ blue interior. But that was 40 years ago when I was in the Air Force. I was dumber then and I raced it and eventually crashed it. I gutted it and got rid of the car. I still have the motor minus the intake, the trans and the pie pan from the air cleaner. There was a nice ‘71 for sale not too long ago, that was nearly identical, but I had just picked up the Newport I’ve posted here, so I passed. Is there an emoji for kicking yourself?

That's Big Block's car up in Canada. He caused a lot of drooling here when he joined and posed these photos to the forum.

The bucket seats with console combo is one of the top features of this NY, and I'd gladly take that over a center buddy or bench seat. Plenty of room for four abreast in the back, haha.
