For those of us that live in the rust belt and tend to hold onto a new car longer than a lease period, would you buy or choose a certin car if it had a winter or corrosion package at and extra cost. For example stainless brake lines, stainles trans cooler and lines, stainless power.steering lines and cooler, most gas tanks and lines are plastic so not much there. Just thinking that at least for a model year or two a manufacture could have a sales leg up with such a package?

Great idea, for years I've purchased old Crown Vics. for daily transportation, cheap, reliable, rear wheel drive. One problem with these cars is the rear brake lines rot out where they are attached to the frame due to salt spray.

I still have never bought a new vehicle but I would probably seek out cars that came that way in the used car market.

My 2005 2500 Ram quad cab, 8 ft bed has rust in the quarters, rusty brake lines, rusty frame rails, rusty EVERYTHING underneath..... I love your idea

My 2005 F-150 still has glossy painted wheel wells, rockers, and undercarriage. Just turned 42....
A cupla weeks ago I treated it with a pair of almost new used Michellns from Garcia's for 80 bucks.

My 02 3/4 ton is getting worse with the rust so its for sale, I think I'm heading west on a one way plane ticket and drive something rust free home.

I get that some people don't care cause they aren't keeping it but 3 years it would have to help resale though like Matt said. Owner of a local junk yard brought this idea up guess he tired of seeing all the parts rusting off the cars by the time he gets them

This is my next truck...........

That is a lot of truck, black looks great but the worst color to have. Nice ride!

By the time I get one it will be three years old, I have to pay the Challenger off first ... I want a diesel this go round

My poor Teal Chevy has Rust creeping in lately, found a hole in floor (no I'm not kidding, another vehicle that needs floor work), and I think the gas tank filler neck is starting to rot (I can smell gas but no drips)

I've been looking at new-ish trucks, and have noticed that GM offers a protection package on the newer trucks that includes stainless lines and some splash shields underneath.
