Good Answer. I bought a car in Texas and went the appraisal route and it worked out perfect. When it arrived in Canada it was everything that I expected.

Those are Mike Collin's cars....he passed away last year. I have never seen them but I know he put a ton of NOS on them.
Mike use to rebuild all my power window switches; he was a talented guy.

thanks, Furyman, so in that case, you figure his son's story is pretty solid (and the car too...)?

Well, sorry to bug you guys again, but I thought I’d let you know the latest. I tried the link and the guy I got told me to tell the seller to send me three appraisers in the area that I could choose from. But the guy has already had the car appraised, so I don’t think he would even know any other appraisers and not sure whey I’d put that burden on the seller (the appraisal guy, who said he was 250 miles away, claimed “that’s the way it’s done” anyway, I guess my only option is if any of you guys are able to do it. Obviously, I realize that may not be possible, though one gentlemen said he was about 5 hours away one way, but wasn’t even sure if he could do it. Perhaps, I should call it a day and keep hoping for a 69 red on white TNT to come along. Pretty low odds I suppose, then you got the crotchety 69 TNT up in Canada as well that won’t even let anyone view it. Anyway, thanks for all of your thoughts/opinions, and feel free to send me more if you like. Maybe I should stick to US cars, or just focus on the Bronze car now, which I intend to do. (can’t really afford another anyway) I just keep thinking maybe try and get a TNT car, 69 car, whatever, in case they become more scarce/expensive in the years to come. Oh well… I’ll shut up now…

Quick update: Mark the owner did forward my appraisal request to the person handling his dad's estate, he seems like a pretty thoughtful and honest guy (over email anyway)

They advertise "pre-purchase evaluations" and show they covered the London area... and then expect the seller to handle it???

Wow... I've met people in the appraisal business... They sure don't operate that way.

yeah, it was kind of confusing to me (?)

If the car is in Carleton Place as suspected, then it is nowhere near that company's operating area.

hi all,

Got an inspector to take a look kind of disappointed with the lack of photos, but any feedback would be appreciated. the owner is firm on 16500 CAN, just under 14K US (I think)
as you can see, it looks like this guy did the first appraisal on the car, but I contacted him out of the blue, and the owner didn't "recommend" him so i don't suspect anything there.

I would have to put eyeballs on that one before pulling the trigger. Looks like a lot of rust on the undercarriage...

thanks, yeah, I was kind of thinking the same thing. the inspector kept referring to it as "surface rust" but there seems to be plenty of evidence of "deeper" rust, which makes me wonder if the frame rails and other underbody parts are indeed solid and original. thanks for your feedback...
