Not that anybody care but soon after I posted MrFixit's thread on a batmobile link did the owner of the replica come over here and do a follow up but thats about it so I'll fill ya'll in. Its a Gen 3 replica - One of Seven, the first being a resculpt of my 1st # 2 replica which coincidentally also went to the greater Toronto, Ontario area many many moons ago and was also reviewed by this owner in a magazine and a few others..one of whom owns a classic car resto shop with a tv show. In typical hollyweird fashion the entire history of my Gen 2 replica was made up, itscondition ' fabricated , there was never any mention of me..the guy that 1st brought Batmobile replicas into Canada 25 years ago, not a blip, not a nuthin...oh well who cares right? Fact of the matter is my gen 2 wasjust painted in a brilliant gloss black, it had a basic interior with two new buckets seats and a console etc...the magazine contributors said the ' gadgets ' were long gone, the car was thrashed, frame was broken..like they did some glorious resto job on it when all they did was add about a thousand rivets to the dash and some other tacky additions..then in true hollyweird style it all of a sudden became the ' sixth ' Batmobile and the actors were paid to sign it to ' authenticate ' it...my creation crafted from pieces I paid for off the original that I dragged up on top of a MOPAR station wagon a thousand miles from LA and pieces i sculpted myself..like the nosecone just like on this Gen 3..all of a sudden it was apparently 'one of the originals' LOL!

After I made the new master mold off the Gen 3 # 1 sculpt..which btw now lives in NY state, I hand made and sold a few shells..this is long before fiberglassfreeks came into exsistance, one of the Gen 3 buyers being a True Mopar guy like the rest of us has crafted his to fit on a Viper chassis...and its freekin unreal - here's a pic -

Got any more pics of that build? A Viper should be a lot shorter than the Batmobile. Did they change the body dimensions to fit the Viper chassis or stretch the chassis to fit the body?

First off thanks to Tom for starting this thread and then thanks to all the contributors who have increased my knowledge of Batmobile replicas 100%. I've been on this board a long time and this has got to be one of the most unique threads I've come across. 
On a side note retail cost on a replica when one may come up for sale which is pretty rare this ' preowned' example just sold for approx $65K in a few weeks, this was a homebuilder kit. Other stateside examples from established builders other than FF typically have retailed in the $85K range for almost 20 years and those have always resold for more again. Compare that to the Canadian versions which have retailed for less than $55k and the US buyers has a clear advantage due to the exchange rate. Back in the 'frenzy ' buying days replicas would fetch over $200k at auction such as my Gen 2 # 1 did when sold south, hence the need for the selling parties at the time to keep its origins clouded in mystery..ie bs.

It was written in 1996 and they claim the car being restored was 30 years old, which would have made it the original Batmobile from 1966 if true. I think they didn't know that the term "1966 Batmobile" is generically used to mean any Batmobile which looks like the one from the TV series.
The info on the Batmobile restoration project as been taken down from The Guild's website, but I found it in the Wayback Machine. Unfortunately they didn't archive any of the pictures.

Good point on the 30 year mistep! Here's an old website with pics of the former ' capedcanadian' before it was sold to its first US owner in DC after it was listed by the guild in the dupont registry for $178K US. Left- Here's how the CC looked on my lawn Before the guild got their hands on it! Flawless new paint. Ran fine., plenty of power! NO broken frame. Not stripped and abused. Right photo- the guilds photo of it after their 'work'.
Its really about top quality workmanship and utilizing top quality parts . ALL gen turnkey 3's were gifted with Radir rims altho some owners opted for the cheaper and not as well made option of strike copies, usually in conjuction with a tire dealer. A significant cost diff between the chinese ' strike ' copies - Radir Wheels - Custom Wheels - 12 Spoke Spindle Mount Wheels - Tri-Ribb Custom Wheels,

It's difficult to match the original Tv Batmobile's duller gloss paint finish as seen on the original show when building a replica so it really is up to the builder and whats contracted for a turnkey replica as to what the final paint finish will be- In all Gen 3's its gloss black and on the ST C subject car here one can see the finish is gloss black. TV car seen here-

It appears that Moore ultimately did keep the car. The website for his museum states that it has a "replica" of the 1966 batmobile.

Unfortunately, Barris was bad for trying to take credit for movie cars that he wasn't actually involved in building.
