I had eye surgery yesterday and spent a sleepless night in the hospital. I will be home for the next week, which is something totally foreign to me, so I will be asking a bunch of questions to try and get everything sorted out ahead of time on Goldie.

Right now still sleepy, but a lot better off than I anticipated. Virtually no pain just taking Tylenol.

Thanks guys my surgery was called orbital decompression. If you want to get grossed out google the surgery. They actually go in and remove bone and fat from around your eye socket so that my bulging eyes, a side effect from graves disease, go back to their proper position. I get to do the other eye in about a month.

Not grossed out...in fact it's cool that this surgery can be done and it saves your eyesight. But then again...I'm a little weird like that. A friend of ours went in for preop for this surgery...found out she was pregnant...her husband who is 56 was to say the least...surprised. In a nice way.

Sounds like it wasen't much fun,but glad it's going to work out for you,,a few months back I got a piece of metal in my eye from grinding a weld,I can usually rinse out debris I get in my eye but this piece was in deep and it begain to rust,I have only had one migrane headache in my life it sucked,,but when the metal rusted in my eye I had a migrane headache in my eye that was painful until I had it removed,,

Just take it easy and do exactly what the eye doc tells you. No deviation. It's not like other surgeries where you can do things until it hurts and then just take it easy for the rest of the day.

I've had six eye surgeries, three in each eye. Cataracts and torn retinas. I have 20/20 vision only because I had great doctors and I did the right things.

Thanks everyone. I'm feeling pretty good today. The eye is pretty swollen but I can tell that it is sitting back in my eye socket like it is suppose to.

No they just are budging from all the fat deposited from the graves disease, so now they are sitting back in the proper position. I took a radioactive iodide about 3 years ago that kills the thyroid and ends the graves disease. The fat deposits never go away and they can't get all the fat out in surgery, so they actually make room for the fat by removing bone from around your eye.

It sounds crazy but even with the swelling I can tell it is better than before.
