MrMoparCHP: used to live out in California. You should have seen me hanging off the radiator core support trying to get her back down. I did the same, loaded the front floor boards up with intake manifolds and everything else I could to keep it flat again. Almost done under the car.

Well when I did the front stub frame I placed jack stands under the rear differential and along the sides of the rocker panels as suggested by the book.

I had no issues with the rear wanted to lift the front of the car at all..

Once I reenforcethe bback end of the car I'll be more optomistic about raisingthe car on the leaf springs but certainly not for now

I was just thinking about this the other day when I was out working on my C body. I need a more worthy jack. My little aluminum low profile jack I used on my Hondas is not up to snuff to lifting or getting the C body high enough. I also need to invest in ramps for oil changes.

MrMoparCHP: Are you interested in the cars of law enforcement or retired CHP? I lived in California for many years and have a background relted to the question. I often consider doing what you are doing.

I'm foremost a Mopar fan, the CHP Polara came second to my interest in Mopar. I never had an interest in doing a different agency and would only do another CHP car if I was to take on another one, my next project will most likely not be a law enforcement vehicle. I do not have a history with CHP and until I acquired this car I really didn't know much about the department. I did have a great uncle that I never knew that worked with CHP at day one (1929) till his retirement in 1967.

Even beyond the nature of my restoration with the degree of rust repair, taking on restoring a vintage police car has its unique set of challenges, all for a car that has limited use.

BTW GROUP. If anyone iz looking for ah new low profile Jack, Get on Amazon and plug in "American Forge & Foundry T-200. I think 2 ton rating iz way conservative on this puppy. Not cheap but iz the good stuff ever? Just don't try to tuck it under your arm and try runnin' with it! My Great Grand Children will thank me for passing this one on, 'cept for fighting over it!
