Big Blue, the 67 Crown Coupe - Managing Director Edition

Holy crap here's hoping you are on the mend! Sounds like a blood clot which can be very serious. Don't take their first answer as gospel. Make sure someone is there to advocate on your behalf if you can't. Good luck get well soon.

Blood clot is what the docs first thought, but tests showed it was "merely" a very aggressive infection by an unknown bacteria. I'm being treated with powerful IV antibiotics, and morphine for the pain. I can walk a few steps unassisted, so I can tell it is getting better. Today, they took me out of full isolation; staff and visitors don't have to dress up like Ebola workers anymore. With any luck, I'll get out of this nightmare in a few days.
Thanks to all for your support.

Holy Cow Dave! I hope you get better soon!

and this came out of nowhere? could it have been something you came in contact with? or something you ate?

The docs think I was bitten by some insect or scratched by a thorn while picking lemons earlier in the day. But, nobody could find a mark on my leg to prove that. There are a few puncture marks and small scratches elsewhere on my body. Seems unlikely the germs would travel to my lower leg before attacking. Theoretically possible. Thanks for your support.

I'm pretty sure I found the problem...

Thanks. Unfortunately, the treatments have been ineffective so far and the trend is negative. I'm hanging in there and putting up the best fight I can.
What exactly do you mean that the trend is negative?

Very concerned to hear this. Hoping and praying they get a handle on this thing soon.

I really appreciate all your prayers and positive energy for me, guys. Apparently, the infection in my leg muscle is antibiotic-resistant. The hospital has an infectious disease specialist who is monitoring me very closely. As of this afternoon, the spreading of the infected area may have stopped. Fingers crossed, etc. My wife and kids are very supportive, too.

Very sorry you got tangled up in this, get better dammit!

I hadn't checked your thread in a while... that's crazy stuff you're going through. Very sorry you are going through all of this... and without any definitive information to go on.

Fingers are crossed...

Thanks! Everybody here is doing everything they can. This where we hope the "Miracle of Modern Medicine" actually means results.

Happy New Year, fellow Imperialists!
The infection in my leg appears to be under control and receding. This stay of 7 nights is the longest I've ever been in a hospital and I can't wait to get out. No word yet on when I might be released. I can do about 100 yards using a walker and strong opiates for the pain. While I've been in here, my son fetched the new license plates from the DMV and mounted them:
CRUZR 67.
I'm looking forward to getting back to work on Big Blue.
Thanks so much for your support.
