Good luck, it looks like a fairly solid car. Typical mid-west quarter rust. Hopefully he isn't playing hard to get for a higher price.

He apparently already is, with no engine, transmission, rear end , no spindles and no title and everything needing to be redone you'd think he'd be anxious to sell, considering himself lucky

I have emailed him multiple times about the 71' Newport. No response. It's just a Newport, you would think he would want to get rid of it.

Well guys I bought the 71 Polara cop car today. She is rough and rusty but you cool to let be parted out or crushed. I'm going to drag your home next week and toss her in the shed and forget about her for a little while until I can restore it the right way.

Good to hear another one is being saved. Aside from being rough any surprises? Keep us posted when you start work.

Dada boy! :wtg:

No she is pretty much about like I thought you would be. There was an oil pressure gauge in the dash AM FM radio and a remote trunk release so that was good. But she was rode hard and put up wet.

Mike now has more Polaras than I do and I am happy about that...
Now I just need to get them done.

Was the '68 NYer still there? Do you know if he's willing to part it out. I cannot justify going that far to pick up a parts car, but if he'd pull some parts I'd be interested in that.

By the way that's a nice collection you have going on there.

Yes he still had all the cars. The newport was STUPID nice. Too bad it is a 4 door post car. Engine bay still had inspector paint marks, 3 speed wiper was still perfect gold color, trunk still had brush marks in the seam sealer. It was a perfect car before it got into its accident and he pulled the engine.

But the New Yorker was there. I bet he would pull some parts off it. He is a pretty nice guy when you get ahold of him. I think there was something wrong with his CL ad email address as he was very quick responding once I got his #.

If anyone needs it just PM me and I can shoot you his #.

Well guys finally got it home today. LONG trip and a blowout at 70 mph made it interesting but she is home safe and sound!! :eek:ccasion14:
