Carlisle 2020 Official Thread

Shouldn't be hard to get on the showfield. No lines will be backed up......probably.

I don't think the lines will be too bad, probably a little less than normal. I have a feeling the turnout this year if the show is on will be most likely the lightest it has ever been in years. But I could be wrong, you never know anything can happen between now and then

[QUOTE="rapidtrans,
Can you imagine having to wear one of those masks in that heat? .[/QUOTE]

HEAT ?????? One reason I go is to get away from the heat.... Real heat. Heck, Carlisle in July is a balmy relief....:poke:

I thought we had humidity in summer in MN, until I went down to the Gulf Coast in August, I thought I needed gills to breathe.

The POINT was wearing a mask in the heat and humidity. Amateurs?

I was joking. I have been to the sand box many times wearing Mopp gear. I rather just have a mask.

Spring Carlisle moved again to June.

We'll see if the Chrysler show moves.....

Carlisle Events is too big to fail......

I don't know who owns the fairgrounds but the overhead is probably pretty low to maintain the site. Will attendance be low at events this year??? You betcha but I think things will be OK. All the events are still scheduled for 2020 and the spring show has been moved to May.

I was planning to be at the show on Saturday only and I will still go. Get to Carlisle in the morning and hit the road in the evening. I didn't make any hotel reservations this year so I don't have any worries there. I would think it would be pretty easy and a lot cheaper to get a hotel reservation even few days before the event. I'm sure there at least half of the reservations were or will be cancelled this year.
IDK... I bet their overhead is more than you'd initially think... I'm just expecting them to become Carlislesomethingelse after their accountants find a way for them to make money or keep money from all of this...

Those hotels will be a real crap shoot. Already you didn't know what you'd get year after year... so a little less revenue could shutter some of them. I expect a number will be "under new management" and lose track of cheaper reservations once the demand picks up.

The talking heads are bringing up , more lately, the subject of a "canceled summer". The economy is not going to just "open for business" all at once. Small business will be the first to reopen with restaurants the priority. The large venue gatherings, such as Carlisle, will be last on the list until confidence that the virus is more controlled can be obtained. And as Bill Maher says, there will be NEW RULES.

I believe handshakes might be something that fades in to history. It will difficult for me to break that habit.....

I'm surprised that there hasnt been more new ideas of greeting methods being presented to replace the handshake.

Elbow bumps and toe kicks ...

Too gay for me.
