Chain the motor!

Use.some 5/16 chain even cheap stuff, non d.o.t. is fine, bolts that hold engine plates to ears left front top put bolt through chain and reattach, the other end ? On a c body usually used sway bar mounts on b-e body could wrap around stub frame and.use bolt to secure easy to reverse when $ up for poly lock. Question is how much power or is this a stick car.

Sorry about not responding sooner. Car has a custom built automatic trans with a 3500 stall 9" converter and is rollerized. Motor has close to 600hp. Rear has 355s with pinion snubber. I'm running 28x10x15 Hoosier slicks. It hooks!

I think I will wait for the Poly's and might chain it too.

My 69 300 had a steel cable with loops on each end that attached with the mount bolts.
It seemed like it would be pretty effective without the awkward look of the chain. I still have it somewhere.... I'll try to post a picture when I find it.

I located the "torque" strap. It looks like a factory installed piece that includes the cable, a special stepped spacer and bolt & nut. It was on the left motor mount on my 300 and the engine shows no sign of ever having been removed.... I suppose I should clean it up and put it back on.

Nice and yes you should put it back on as you never know. Pretty cool piece.

I think my guess is that this is an additional ground strap. I have seen as many as 3 on some 80's vehicles.

Probably not a lot of strength in just a crimped sleeve... :shruggy: I'm pretty sure I could break that, way before I dropped over dead trying to pull a vulcanized ice cream sandwich motor mount apart...

NO....... Not a ground strap. It is designed to allow the tether to rotate on the spacer once installed and tightened. Won't provide much of a ground.
This is a pretty serious cable and may even be capable of supporting the weight of the engine, not that i'm going to try that. But more then able to control the engine lift in the event of a mount failure on an OEM engine.
