Classic cars (Boomers vs. Gen-X'rs)

Bandit T/As on the other hand are revered by Gen Xers who grew up watching Burt Reynolds’ toupee blowing in the T-top slip stream, humming “East Bound and Down.” To them, it matters little that most malaise-era T/As-- save for the 455-cubic-inch versions-- were toothless tigers compared to the GTO. They’re cool and that’s enough.

I find that a little funny. Gen X are born between 1965-85 which make the oldest one 12 years old when the movie came out. Meanwhile a boomer born 1956-61 would have been 16-21 years old and more likely to actually buy and drive the car. Outside of that one car the rest I can see and as you know said our cars are only important to us. Just watch and see the interest Gen Y has in cars. Little...

Complete and utter rubbish. I'd take both the goat and the TA, Datsun Z over any Mazda, won't touch a VW of any year, same goes for the Bimmers, and Landcruiser over 4Runner every day of the f'in week. But wouldn't a one of em stay stock.

I wouldn't keep anyone of them, I'd sell them for the nicest mopar I could buy with the proceeds.

I can appreciate that, I have a 64 GTO convertible. I also saw my first R movie,Bruce Lee Game of Death, riding in my neighbor's brand new 79 T/A, 400 4 speed. In college a friend had one, I wanted it badly but was college student broke. I later got a wrecked T/A and fixed it. Certainly cool cars, and I see the draw. The old FJ40's are getting very pricey, so don't believe anyone wants a 4Runner over that. Besides, everyone wanted a Countach, a Magnum PI Ferrari 308, Delorean, a 69 Charger, or a red & white Kenworth AeroDyne, back then.

Look I can say it, CannonBall Run, give me any car in the movie, save for the Subaru. Even the Laguna that changes in to a Monte Carlo.

Fox should stay out of the car stories. Being the oldest in the Generation X the only car I want on that list is the GTO.

Long did I LUST after the 70' Dodge Charger...R/T, 500, SE it didn't matter. I started driving in highschool and my first set of wheels was a 72' Dodge Charger. It had problems but still a fun car. Than after that a 73' came along......have yet to nail that 70' but I'm not dead yet.
