Back when I was in grade school, I really liked the photo art ads, rather than the drawn art ads. In many of the Buick drawn art ads, the proportions were carefully altered for more length, but the various perspectives were still there, so it all looked good.
There were two guys who did the Pontiac ads. As I recall reading, they were in different parts of the country and worked independently of each other, typically. When I read that article, I got a very new perspective of that ad series. Details were fantastic! As mentioned, you WANTED to be that guy in THAT Pontiac!

I remember the interview with the late Art Fitzpatrick (the AF part of the AF/VK artists doing the GM ads from around 59-72) who died around 2015 in his mid 90s in Collectible Automobile Magazine. Van Kaufman was already dead for a Long time then, he originally came from the Disney Studios.
There actually was some committee set up during the early Wide Track Pontiac drawn ads that wanted to investigate foul Play due to These idealized proportions compared to photography. IIRC Art Fitzpatrick himself rebutted These Claims with some prepared photographs that were done with different objectives having the same effect to the cars' appearance.
