I'm unfortunetly stuck at that point of needing the big parts (sway bar kits, diff rebuild kit, rotors, calipers, drums, gas tank) this car just needs my time, which like I said I put bit here, a bit there.

Gave him a wash. also cleaned up the rust on the rear bumper.

Cut out the rust around the back window and carefully welded in new steel, then I gave it a skim coat of filler, then sanded and primed today. Dennis is my guinea pig for Angel, easiest way to get good at metal work is to do it.

I couldn't agree more, nice work Nick!

Wow, that is brave to do that with the rear window still in place. My hat is off to you. I have a 1970 Buick Skylark that needs a repair at the base of the rear window also, and am obviously concerned about cracking the glass when going to take it out. If ok, I'd like to post a pic and get your opinion on it. Maybe can get away with leaving the glass in....

Really like this thread, have a soft spot for the 1973 Fury as was my first C-Body. Keep it up Buddy, great pics.

That was my biggest fear, cracking the window when removing it. I decided it leave it in place and carefully, and I do mean carefully cut and put the new piece in, I was luck and had about 1/2 inch between where I had to cut and the base of the glass. it was nerve racking nonetheless

Nice, another epic thread! Really nice work. What did you use to protect the glass from spatter?

Thanks guys.

Going through some of my paperwork that I got when transferred the ownership. The first registered owner was The Central Canadian National Exhibition, the previous owners story of the car being a giveaway car is true, and I have documentation to prove it now, his other story was true too, he said it got passed through the family after the first owner died his wife got it, then the guys son, then he bought it.

Lotta love being given to a four-door - good on ya! I, too, have too damn much going on, car-wise...TWO '68 D100s, the Imperial ragtop (haven't touched it in two months!), the Coronet (my current emphasis), the wife's '78 NYBS (still searching for a PS exhaust manifold for it!), and my son's Buick.

I thought all the car needed was time??.... haha

Paint came out great!! Stop it already. Your making me feel bad! lol

Time became my usual issue, that and I'm anal. Lets be fair, it's 90% my anality. Anyway, it's turned into good practice.

anyway........and when I say oof near the end, I banged my head on the door frame, I'm used to my Ragtop.

Nick

And for those of you who have noticed me calling my Girlfriends dad my Father-in-law........soon enough it will be justified....
