Dennis. That's his name.

well you're in good company. difference is, my '69 convertible (or anything else i have for that matter) will never be anywhere near as nice as yours will be. careful, gonna lose your status in the junk world.
As long as he plays with Plymouths...he will never lose that status...

Hmmmm it appears I ruffled some feathers, lets try this. Nick great work, your car should be on display at Carlisle as the worlds only hand built 1973 Plymouth Fury four door hardtop in Gold from Ajax Ontario.

I find it funny the only people taking offense to this comment are @71Polara383 and @polara71

God damn dodge guys.... Won't even give credit where it's due.

I wouldn't want to do any of the special display crap, it's a nothing special car, and I'm not an attention *****.

My reward will come from driving this car, putting the miles on it.

Spending time with my dad taking both of our cars to shows.

Nick

Only because it is not the only hand built C body. I half hand built one in the mid 80s . There were probably thousands done before and thousands done after .

Believe it or not the statement struck a nerve .

So you're bothered that none of those cars were ever invited to be displayed?

Or you just have a stick in your ***?

:BangHead: No young buck.... it isn't the first and it's not thge last . I'm confused as to why you're confused ...

I'm out ....
I used to respect you Dave, unfortunetly I'm just tired of people who have nothing better to do then have opinions about everyone else's cars.

I'm sorry that it is your opinion that my efforts are not worthy of some special showcase, my cars aren't survivors, or even interesting really, they aren't special.

Luckily I'm not ego centric and don't need that ego constantly stroked.

Do whatever you like Dave, be miserable, be happy, have your little clique of special c bodies and c body people.

I've pretty much had enough of offering help to people on this forum and being completely ignored like I don't even exist.

I offer cars for parts and people expect me to either give the stuff away or give them the best of what I have, I'm sure if they just dropped 800 on two cars and spent 5 hours each direction for 2 trips through the city, they maybe would want to maybe keep a few nice parts for Thier own cars.

I work anywhere from 10-14 hours a day to get paid 6-10 hours average, I make sure my bills and my wife's bills are paid, this is a hobby and nothing else, it is meant to be pleasurable.

Unfortunately because I can't swing to get things to the standards of others you seem to take serious offense to anyone suggesting this car might be of special status.

I was quite proud of the fact I basically cut every single mountjbg point fir the stub off this car and managed to put them all back 100% square do the stub fit as intended.

I thought that was something to be proud of as an amateur whose been teaching himself as he goes.

I was never taught to fabricate, I was never taught to weld. Instead I bought the equipment and forced myself to make it work. Throughout this and my other cars I've had very limited help, I've done 95% of it by myself, like an idiot I've had to figure out how to lift hoods, fenders, doors, stubs, diffs, trans etc myself, how to hold things in place and square myself etc.

I don't post the photos and such for Atta boys, I instead am only chronicling my journey to prove that few cars are unrestorable, many are worthy of a second chance, and that you don't need a million dollar facility or endless funds to restore an old gold shitbox.

I guess. My time here is done.

Nick

Nick, I'm really unsure what you're reading into. I absolutely meant no disrespect to anything you've done. I've always looked at what you've done with respect, amazement and high regard . I wish I had half your skills and mojo.
Someone said " you are building the world's first hand built C body" which I don't believe it is. If you are reading more into that I'm really at a loss ....

Nick — I’ve bookmarked your thread because I admire what you do and enjoy learning a lot in the process of reading your posts. I know that you’ll continue the good work, and I sure hope you’ll keep posting about it too. Thanks for everything thus far!

I hope not, I for one really enjoy watching what your doing on your cars. I totally understand the shoestring budget, this is why I don't have a current project car. It always seems like there is never enough cash to go around. Keep posting please

I took the liberty to edit out the crap and keep the gold... Nick, you do have much to be proud of. I love watching the stuff you do, more because I know it is the journey it is, than because I figure you will have some 1 of whatever special car when done. The thing that will make your car special to many more folks than just you, will be that journey and you being kind enough to share it.

Putting that shell back together in your garage, with all of the metal work, is an accomplishment for anyone... regardless of equipment. Keep doing your thing, and hopefully you will continue to share here.

as if you're the only one. now take all that and add twenty years. best wishes to you from one of the other mechanics in the room.

Nick, As I told you in person, you are a talented guy.
Nobody can take that away from you nor any comments (taken out of context or not) should discourage you.
We both have a lot in common--I like yourself built a car on a shoestring budget, and still finished my car with a lot of personal termoil going on.
I did most of the work myself and had lots of help on my "handbuilt" C.
There were others before me,and more after your build too.
As long as there is little or no aftermarket support and we all have to scrounge for parts or make our own parts we all have handbuilt cars.

So young Skywalker, perservere, take a break from social media take your pent up frustration and channel your energy to build that car!

As Spock once said..."Once you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth."

Nick,
You do some incredible work and to hear now that you are self taught I take that as encouragement for the day when I finally get the welder out of the box that I bought nearly 2 years ago, but haven't had a chance to do anything with yet. Keep at it.
