I essentially spent from August to January picking away at my dads Z/28 for him. When it came into my shop, it left puddles of oil, coolant, PS, trans oil and the odd drop of brake fluid....not acceptable....Thanks for the update, I wondered what you have been up to.
I won't detail it like I do my projects....but I will give the gist.. I wanted to make the car right for my dad as he's the most deserving man I know...he put his kids first and didn't get his first performance car till he was 67...at 71 I wanted him to have a car that looked good, but most importantly was reliable and a good runner.
Its arrival/before...
Out came its Heart...
Down to a shortblock....replaced the rear main which was hard as a rock with a fel-pro double lip unit..replaced the noisy gear to gear with a double roller, scraped off 3 pounds of RTV and correctly sealed everything, new stem seals, new stretch bolts, etc etc
You can see the damage caused to the cheap clutch/flywheel by the oil contamination....I replaced it with a McLoed Street pro...Trans got all new seals and gaskets...
I also tried my hand at painting...I got paint mixed in BC/CC and sprayed the inner fenders and cowl...
