Does your MOPAR have a name, and if so, what and why?

I call my girl 'Alice' for several reasons. I travelled from New Zealand to California and then drove up to Oregon with a friend, purchased the Chrysler and then drove it back to California to ship home. It was probably one of the coolest adventures I have ever been on. Once the car was finally in my shed in NZ my sister asked if I had a name for it yet ( which I hadn't even considered ) and started coming out with some bad ideas. I looked at the number plate and it all fell into place....I said she is "Alice from the Pacific Wonderland" and it has stuck to this day.

My 1978 Newport is "Mary Jane" for the previous and original owner (I have copy of the title) her name really was Mary Jane. And I think she really was smoking something when she ordered this car...

My 1978 New Yorker is "Frank" (Sinatra) The NY'er is a formal and worthy car that fits Frank's stature and persona.

Chrysler sure had some really different color combos back then...Everything now has the same neutral (boring) black, gray, or tan interiors

I always refer to my cars by the colors... So my 300 is the "Brown Car".

She is Goldie of course. :) I have had color type car names over the years; Garnet, Esmeralda, so Goldie was a no brainer.

I have never named a car or truck. Names (to me) are for race cars, boats, and airplanes.

Wait, I'll take that back...Nearly every one has been called "*****". As in "C'mon, *****, start already!"

With all the cars my Dad and I have owned, he named just one - a 1954 Willys CJ3B 4x4 that he called the "Kidney Killer". It was one rough-riding cob, I tell ya! I painted that under the windshield when I was 14, and it stayed until he sold the Willys about five years later.

Hey Bob...... I knew you called your 78 Newport "Mary Jane", but I thought it was because it's the color of the candy... "Maryjanes".....:urkidding:

I have always tacked a name onto our vehicles, it's just fun.

Most of you know Jazebelle, named partly because of her Crimson Red, and over the top decadence and partly because of her unusual VIN number.

And this is Virgil, My current project car. A 1961 Plymouth Fury convertible. Designed by Virgil Exner. (one of Garys favorites)....:poke:

And, of course, The Admiral .... A 1969 Plymouth Fury Custom Suburban. So named after I bought him from a Navy submarine man, his color and general commanding size.

I like your Mach 5 reference with your white car red interior. Even more subtle reference based on that, Trixie, Speed racer's girlfriend.

"Nice n White" when I was a kid in western ks. my brother, gave my dad a 61 ford unibody shortbed pickup, and I affectionately named it WHITEASS, coincidentally I rolled the dern thing when I was 11 with my bro, and cousin, no one got hurt, and the old man wasn't too mad, guess he figured that's what 3 kids might do, so he got the tractor/chain flipped her back on her wheels checked the fluids, started her up, and drove it without issue for a while, worked great for sneakin in to town, when my cousin and I were 13. :happy6:
