Hey John,
Thanks for the link. I read it through. I'm planning to get 16 and 10 gauge male/female spade connectors now to put the link together w/ the battery charge wire.
Any idea why they (Chrysler) would use a 12 gauge wire from the alternator and after it's traveled through the bulkhead connector to the ammeter and back switch to a 10 gauge wire after the fusible link? Seems like since this is the path of the charge from the alt. to the battery positive post you'd want it to be the same size.
Is this sort of the same concept as you were explaining to me about wire size vs. the amount of draw? You used a dash light as an example. If the power to the small dash light branches off a large wire then you can use a smaller gauge wire for it since it doesn't draw a lot of current.
I don't understand though why they would start off smaller (12 awg) and increase to 10 awg?
