Exactly What Wheels & Tires Fit C Bodies?

Super nice monaco!!! can you tell us the backspace or offset? I have very similar size front and back. Are both rear tires equal distant from the fenders or did you find that the rear diff was not exactly centered? People don't notice unless they are running 275-ish tires because normally a 1/2" either way is not a big deal. Ive seen those wheels on B bodies but I think I like them even more on bigger Cs. If you dont have a "garage" post you should create one.

back space is listed at 4.5

Apologize for those that know but since the thread has exactly" in the name and a 4.5" backspace on a 8 inch wide wheel (which is 9" wide from lip to lip) means the mounting plate is exactly in the middle of the wheel. This is typical on an older vehicle. This is the same as 0mm offset. The 9" wide lip to lip is significant because this is the first part of the rim that will make contact with the fender lip or the inner spring mount. In truth the tire bulge will hit before the rim does. So an 8" wide wheel is really 9" wide but when you put a 275mm wide tire on it makes the entire width almost 11" So if your tire vertical diameter is say 28" then you need to have 11" of width of clearance at 14" above the mount and 14" below. The above aspect is important only for wheel well width and fender lip clearance and the below is really only relevant with spring clearance.

I'm sorry if this doesn't make sense. The weather was nice and beer doesn't drink itself.

NOT MINE - 1970 Plymouth Sport Fury 4dr Hardtop

1973 Polara Wagon. 20×8 Detroit Steel delrays with trim rings powdercoated silver ( look like the chrysler "road wheels" to me) . 4 in backspace. 245/40/20. No suspension mods. And yes I plan on doing "correct" center caps when I find some.

1960 Chrysler New Yorker, advertised as 285/35R20 rear and 245/40R18 fronts. width and backspacing not listed (Torq Thrust SL's), but eyeballing it it seems a good starting estimate could be ~8.0 in. width, and ~4.0 in. bksp., respectively.

I have never owned forward look cars, let alone know what non OE wheels "fit". My strong advice would be as always "measure twice, cut once" if moving away from OEM spec wheels/tires on forward-look cars (body interference possibilities)

1966 Sport Fury.

Seller indicated 215/70-15 in front, and 275/60-15 in rear.

Keystone Classics width & backspacing NOT indicated but I'd guess 7-8 inch width, looks like 4.0 inch bksp.

I would estimate that to backspacing in order to fit a 275/60 tire outback under the quarter wheel opening/without spring rubbing -- but if you are gonna try that size tire do your measurements first.
