Went to visit my family last May in Western NY. The snow had finally melted. As we were walking around his neighborhood, I noticed all these yellow spots on everyone's front lawn and he tells me its female dogs. After awhile of trying to reason why he said "female" dogs and while we were walking his male dog, it hit me. I was thinking maybe hormones in the urine but no, females don't pee on trees, shrubbery or anything vertical, they pee in the middle of the lawn. I haven't lived in a place that has snow on the ground in about 40 years :eek:ccasion14:

Neutered male dogs (if neutered young) don't lift their legs either.

I have a Great Dane. Pee isn't an issue in comparison to a mound of crap that you can trip over rather than step in.....

I used to have two Danes for a while....

My mates got a Great Dane ,and I've never seen a dog that leaves a mound of **** like he does, He can also drink a pint of milk in about 5 seconds ,But a kinder dog you would ever see .

Ria, supposed lab mix, our new Arrival saved from the streets of Santorin, Greece wants to say hello. :)
Of course she had to be in a pretty messy heat the day after her Arrival.

Very cute Klause! How old? Your other dog is a male, yes?

She's supposed to be about 18 months old. Our male lab had a so called hormone chip inserted a couple weeks ago just in case, which was a good decision I think. Besides that he's about 100 years old now in human age. She invited him in a couple of times to no avail. ;)
