'fess up. Who here hasn't driven a stickshift?

Learned to drive stick in a 1930 Model A,then got my licence in a 5 speed 1986 Ram 50 2.6 Mitsubishi.
Still drive a stick to this day but now it is on the column...
1973 Satellite Custom wagon 318 3 on da tree and no radio,no power steering,no power nuthin!

I've heard a lot of people are kind of disappointed by the Hellcat. Like it just doesn't live up to the hype or something. Also making a claim like "Highest horsepower of any factory muscle car" is a pretty bold claim to make. Especially considering a lot of muscle car purists would fight you to the death over whether or not the Hellcat can be even considered a muscle car.
You heard wrong.

Learned to drive in my Dad's 54 Chev long box with stick. Later standard cars included a Vega, couple Rabbits and an Omni.

Will somebody please take the lad and teach him one of the true glorious events one can have in their lifetime?
Even your boy, Jeremy Clarkson says there's absolutely no good reason for a manual in a modern car.

I did the SRT track experience this summer & they let us drive Vipers & 6 speed Hellcats on a road course. No instructor in the car with you & they didn't even asked if you knew how to drive a manual. Just, ok, your turn & you hopped in.

One guy in our group had to sit out cuz he'd never driven a manual.

1968-69 my dad was gone to Viet Nam. So before he left he bought a car that was very easy to work on and my mom got her license. She was very happy though when her son, me, got his learners permit. So I learned to drive on a 1959 Hillman with a 4 speed manual tranny.

My buddy saw one at the track last year, he said it was pretty pathetic, Although that couldn't be blamed on the car, the guy driving it was really babying it. I guess it got smoked by the new mustang-whatever edition. Pretty much because they guy didn't even attempt to drive it all out.

If it were me I wouldn't be buying a Hellcat to baby it, I'd run the crap out of the thing. Otherwise why wouldn't you just buy a corvette instead.

I can tell you from personal experience the Hellcat is the closest thing to an all out drag car I have ever driven! It is not for the faint of heart in full on track mode. I wouldn't want to drive a road course with it but straight ahead a quarter mile at a time is exactly what I would want from the most powerful Dodge ever made.

On this one, I just have to ask why cuz that's a shocker.

To be honest its a hard car to describe. It sounds wrong the V10 lopes along but its such a steady push you back into your seat you dont get the brutal launch like the Hellcat or dumping the clutch at 4000rpm on an awd Stealth. Now the Viper on a road course or grabbing 4th gear at 130mph with 2 more gears to go aint to shabby either but i like the rawness of a muscle car over a supercar

You can do a simple pulley swap & go nines on drag radials. If that's not a muscle car then I don't know what is.

They have some new fangled, fancy suspension & they handle very well on a road course.

I cant be a real car guy and Mopar fan, And not know how to drive stick....i am a poser.
Someone help me......lol

I have two 4 speed muscle-cars and both of them have been projects since I've owned them. My friend Terry, who just did the work on my vert said that I need to drive his '70 Hemi Cuda vert 4 speed this spring so I have that to look forward to as my first manually stirred muscle-car.

I'm next to drive that Hemi Cuda! LOL!

My first car was a '66 Pontiac Tempest convertible with the sprint package. The overhead cam 6 with the 4 barrel and a 3 speed manual.

The ones that I can recall, a '68 El Camino, a mid '70's Ford pick up, a '40 Ford coupe, a '70 340 Cuda, and a '70 Charger R/T. None of them were mine.
