Hey gang just wondering how hard is it to find the wiring harnesses for say oh a 68-70 Chrysler 300? Are they reproduced like the A/B & E-Body ones are? Additionally, how hard is it to remove the instrument cluster from these cars? I have removed a cluster from a 68 Coronet no AC of course. Lastly, on a 67-68 300 how hard is it to remove the fender skirt? TIA.

A used wiring harness shouldn't be difficult to locate. An NOS piece should be near impossible to locate but I see harness's pop up on e-bay from time to time. If you have an old one to work from there are guy's out there that can make you a new harness.

Clusters are simple, not much different than a Coronet or any other old Chrysler from 1970.

I have never removed a skirt, cant be difficult. A guess would be that you may have to remove the wheel first

Skirts are simple to get on and off. Just push up and in on he handle, then pull it down. Sometimes the skirts "stick" to the body if they havent been taken off for an extended period. In that case, gently hit the bottom edge of the skirt with the heel of your hand until it breaks loose. To install, line up the retaining post(s), then lift the skirt up to lock in the other retainers. Push up on the rod until it pulls the skirt snug then lock it into place in the retaining tab on the lower lip.... Different years have slightly different mechanics, but they all work essentially the same.

The 68 is different then the 69-70 clusters. I tried just removing the cluster from my 69 to replace the face bezel and ended up totally removing the entire dash, including the steering column. I reassembled it on the bench and reinstalled it as a unit, including the harness. (There is a NOS 69-70 harness on ebay priced at $795.00 by one of Stan's favorite people in N Georgia.)

Thanks guys the skirts seem simple enough. On the dash, that seems scary. On the Coronet you remove all the trim pieces, lower the steering column, not remove, and disconnect the plugs for the headlights/wipers/etc and remove that bezel and then if you're smart enough you can bend the bad if it is soft enough and remove the lower instrument cluster screws and then the uppers.

Thats the answer to my next question........so forget that. I had one car that could have had skirts but it didnt . It sounds simple enough.

Hold on, Buckaroo. The Formals use an entirely different design.
