Finally my own '70 Sport Fury GT

While Steve was doing his magic on the roof I started attacking some of the suspension stuff. While removing the wheels I noticed one of the left rear lug studs was busted off. Had to make a run to a local friends mooar yard and pulled a few spare left hand thread studs from a '68 B-body.

A keen eye can spot slight differences in the '68 stud vs the '70 stud... not that anyone would really care lol.

While I had the oil pan off earlier I found the original idler arm to be completely shot. Had a solid 1/4" of up vertical play in it.

As of right now only the tie rod ends/adjusters & idler arm were replaced. The rest of the kit install will have to wait till after Carlisle.

Gotta have lefties.

Curious, why would you think the roof would need to be replaced? Are you referring to the sheetmetal?
It hides some ugly sins. I have to wait till the donor arrives before I finalize the game plan. Once the glass is removed there wont be any turning back till its fully repaired.

Time to do some interior work.

Upon removal of the rear seat bottom I was greeted with a large mouse nest. Miraculously build sheet #1 survived unscathed only inches away.

Build sheet #2 followed up shortly after in the rear seat back.

Build sheet #3 was located in the drivers bucket seat back. It is a really nice color copy.

Build sheet #4 came as a surprise stuck to the carpet as I was rolling it up. It is rough but I amazingly was able to peel it off mostly intact. I stuck it on back on the floor for a better picture.

Are they all for your car?

Indeed they are all my vin. There is a little exclamation (!) mark at the bottom of the sheets where they normally type the remarks in which I thought was interesting.

Donor has gotta be close.

I hope! But I wont get to it till after Carlisle.

Didnt get a picture but there was also another massive mouse nest tucked under the console. What was left of the original carpet was really nasty & had to go. The interior was full of Maple tree seed pods.

Thankfully the floors are pretty good. Only a few pinholes to repair.

You mean like this, maybe because it was a built to spec for car or a lease bid sale car? we got the same thing too on our sheet, see bottom left of picture.....
