My temp is holding at a steady 195. I don't have cooling issues, but I was planning on flushing out the motor as I don't know when it was done before. Some of my freeze plugs will be replaced as well as they look bad...
So while I have it all apart, I hear very good things about this water pump, even for daily drivers.
My plan is as follows...
Replace intake manifold tray with Fel-pro that has the heat channels blocked. My heat riser is safetied open anyway.
New upper/lower hoses
Flush out entire cooling system...block, rad, heater core
Scrape and clean all housings inside and out. Paint.
Re-gasket
New freeze plugs
New 180 thermostat.
New temp sender for stock gauge
Refill with distilled and Mopar friendly coolant
The "while I'm there" list is as follows...
Replace water pump with new FlowKooler unit.
Replace thermostat with 180 high flow
Replace WP housing with aluminum housing.
So I'm open to some thoughts on the idea of changing out my original stock WP for this FlowKooler unit and what the benefit is to running an aluminum housing verses the stock iron...aside from the weight savings. Is it better just to leave the stock WP manifold?
Thanks as always.
