As a side note These are the stereotypical American cars and owners Germans had in mind for decades and it was true to some extent especially in the 70s. One of the reasons American cars in General were regarded as pimpmobiles that further slimmed down chances for manufacturers to sell any stock production cars to serious Business People . Completely different Story in other European countries to Name Switzerland for example.
This effect gradually changed starting in the early 90s I'd guess.

True, but the establishments were shut down by the city after allegations that patrons were involuntarily drugged and subsequently their credit cards were charged with considerable amounts. Several employees have admitted the crimes. It remains unclear if Bernd Wollersheim was personally involved in these activities.
