Hi everyone. Thanks for adding me to the group. I have a few Mopars in my collection and recently inherited a 71 Plymouth Fury Brougham Suburban Wagon. Actually it is the parts car my dearly departed brother purchased to supply the missing parts for another C-body wagon he was having restored. It’s a long story but originally the to be restored car went to a crack head bodyman that stripped it then disappeared along with the parts.
That restored car is with my youngest brother now and he needed the interior door trim panels, seats and some trim. I keep looking at this supposed parts car that came from California and think it is too good to part out. It is a running driving 383 car and is in need of a lot of exterior attention. I think I am going to start sanding and priming panels and hunt for some of the interior parts. I know these cars are rare so hopefully I am able to find the needed parts and keep this car going. Lastly I am open to opinions on me removing all the body side bright trim. I am not a fan of the aluminum and cast trim and want to smooth side the car. Thoughts?

Welcome! Come to Illinois. I have a bunch of wagon interior parts!

Also. Post pics of the wagons!!!

Thanks for reaching out. I will send you a PM when I have a better idea of what I am dealing with. I see you are in Rockford Illinois; I spent a lot of time in the area at the Chrysler Belvedere Assembly plant. I actually started work at American Motors just before Chrysler bought AMC in 1987. My last gig working was in body engineering handling body closures warranty for all product lines. I retired at the end of 2021 after 35 years.

This is the restored car originally from Arizona we just imported it back from Canada where our older brother lived. I am coaching my younger brother to help him get it back together. He has 95% of the parts now.

The parts car. This car was originally from California but was stored outside in Ontario Canada for a number of years. It had a roof leak and accumulated at least 30 gallons of water in the rear spare tire tubs. I had a heck of a time balancing the trailer when towing it home. We only found the water after unloading it and getting the rear window down to open the rear gate.

Welcome. Cool wagons. I have had a few wagons myself over the years. Too bad they were all Michigan rusted out junk/parts cars. They all got parted out for their big block drivetrains and scrapped unfortunately.

Welcome neighbor! ( Lake Orion) Cool car !

I just saw your post and welcome from the East side suburbs from a fellow Chrysler retiree. As for removing the trim I'll just tell you that I've been looking for a wagon and I'm only looking for ones with the factory wood grain trim. You are interested in selling that Sports Suburban or possibly a trade, are you?

The big ole C body wagons are so cool. Too bad I parted 3 of them out over the years for the drivetrains and other good parts. All had the woodgrain also.

Welcome from another fellow Michigander!

JeeperBillM1: I purchased my '72 Polara out of Amherstburg, Ontario last year. I hope to see your wagon at an event in the spring. If needed, Murray Park in Ohio may be a parts source. www.cbodies.com
