First of all, I'm surprised you didn't call them direct and make a cash offer and end the Ebay auction early.

Second of all, call them with a backup cash offer. Can't hurt.
I wasn't fooling around.
I said if ten grand could bring home this car, I'd be a fool not to come up with 10 grand cash asap.
My limit was ten grand right from the git go and I bid it. It still stands.
So, it ain't gonna happen and I ain't gonna lose sleep over it.
$10,000.00.

Since the seller of the 78 New Yorker only provides 1 photo of the engine compartment and states: " there is some minor surface rust in several untreated, vulnerable areas.", these photos are provided for comparison. These were taken last year of a low mileage 77 Newport w/ a 400 2bbl V8. It still had the sticker in the window, plastic covering a couple of interior items, the MSO, etc.

It was at the Syracuse Nationals last year:

The owner cleans out junk for a living in Syracuse. He states that an older lady asked him to clear out everything and he got the car. I forgot what he wanted for it; it may have been less than $14,500. It's a Newport 4-door sedan.

How do people end up buying a car, not a low-end one either, and then never drive them? Presumably death is in the equation.

A little over a day left and it's still stalled at 14-five.
I don't trust the top bid.
Runner-up bidder looks legit.

I EFN hate ebay...

It wasn't registered, so I don't really know. It wasn't at this year's show. I don't know what happened to it.

Is it a sedan or a hardtop?

Any pictures of the interior or the fender tag?

No, those were the only photos I took of this 4-door sedan. I should have taken a picture of the sticker, but this isn't the first car I've seen like this. A few years ago there was a New Yorker Brougham with around 1,000 miles, never registered. He showed me the MSO. It, however sat in a barn and the underside was pretty rusty.

Was it black?

What a time capsule. The car needs to be totally photo documented.

The fellow that I bought my 64 300 convertible from in 2001 also had a 1978 formal coupe that he bought new, drove it home and that was the last time it was out, It was black with silver/gray leather. The plastic was still on the seats. He's since passed away and I don't know what became of his cars. (He had 5 or 6 almost new convertibles, untouched in that garage).

It was a 4-door NYB near Binghamton, NY, advertised on craigslist. Must be a different car.
