Ho made

I'll have to disagree with you on certain issues. As FCBO grows, its demographics has changed drastically. In the beginning, FCBO was made up for the most part of "older" members (how you want to define "older" is up to you and is admittedly subjective). Imperical observation tells me the median age of members here has dropped dramatically. Not to sound demeaning, but the topics of new threads proves that to me.
When I used to log in, I would read every new or updated thread eagerly. Now, I look at the list of new and unread threads when I Iog in and I feel like I am back at Moparts and for the most part skip right over a lot of them. Particularly when they are non auto related. I understand the need for a little diversification from the auto hobby but it's getting a tad more than I am comfortable with.
Should there be more moderation to maintain the focus of what FCBO was created for? F*** NO! The non restrictive openess was what made FCBO grow. But now I'm afraid it is going to be it's downfall. But I don't want to change a thing. If it does go in a new direction, so be it. An alternative is always waiting in the wings to fulfill the original need.
Just like why FCBO was created and grew originally.

As FCBO demographics change and the subject matter changes with it, somebody will start a forum called For C-body Old Men Who Wear Hats Only.
And I'll join it the first day.

Well written Stan !!!! I love being a part of FCBO it reminds me of when Mass Mopar was in it's hay days before their top dog "TAD" passed away. It was a fun site with a good mix of everything not just a bunch of old wrench spinners talking only shop. I for one will always speak my mind as I always do. I also can really care less if someone does not like what I post or disagrees with what I post please feel free to express that to me as I will do the same to you and without the essence of a bad attitude. At the end of the day we all have the same common links here and we know what they are. Our love & passion for our cars and being able (or at least should be able ) to talk and discuss anything without getting our panties in an uproar. Life's highway is way to short to exit off of the first off ramp.

For the older hat wearing members, I'll keep my youthful nonsensical posts to a minimum. I have had a few threads that took a while to generate any response. It happens . Most people don't know how to deal with me for a while at least not until they can see through the noise I make. Sometimes it's a matter of boredom and just looking for a pot to stir. I will refrain from these actions because I appreciate the fact that this forum is here. I like it because it's not full of nonsense. That being said maybe I should do my part in not filling it with nonsense. Not that I think these comments are pointed directly at me but I know I have contributed. As a respect to my fellow car enthusiast here I will keep my posts to a Cbody related tune......that is all:sSig_thanks:.

Reading something besides statements on why a particular CL car isn't worth anything, but should never be flipped, scrapped, or derbied is a welcome break for me ;)

I don't have any issues with your posts.

While it's true that we do have quite a few new members, it's the fact that it's a C-Body Forum that attracts them. All of the members, or at least nearly all of the members, have one thing in common and that is that they own or are interested in owning a C-Body or, in some cases, they may be trying to sell a C-Body. I mean, if they have no interest in these cars whatsoever, then why would they join? So, for all intents, this is still a C-Body Mopar Forum.

As for the sub-forums, we do have the dedicated C-Body forums for "Slabs", "Fusies", etc. We have the Engine, Driveline, Brakes, Suspension, Body categories. We have the For Sale and Wanted sub-forums. So, the site does have pretty much everything covered. We don't have a "Tools & Workshop" sub-forum or a "Projects Daily Progress" type sub-forum, but maybe we don't really need them.

We do have a couple of "Off Topic" sub-forums, which I believe is a good thing. Even when the guys are all hanging around in the garage sometimes the conversation will drift to things that have noting to do with cars. We have a Jokes/Funny Stuff sub-forum and General Discussion/Anything Goes sub-forum. These two sub-forums are, as implied, for things that are not necessarily related to our cars or the hobby. I don't see a problem with having these two sub-forums. I'm glad we have them and after all, they are only two sub-forums. I don't see them as being a big distraction.

IMO, people are still coming here because of the cars. I mean, if I want information on how to refinish kitchen cabinets, install baseboard heaters or talk hunting and fishing, then I'll go to a site that specializes in those topics. If I'm here, it's because of the cars, C-Bodies in particular.

I say don't change a thing. :)

CORRECTION; Looking around the site a bit, I guess it is possible to do a "from start to finish" Project Thread. There is a sub-forum for that...my bad. :icon_redface:

I'm the last guy that wants to dilute this place with my silliness! You guys have all been pretty cool and very helpful. I've been part of forums that have been "hijacked" by a younger crowd for lack of a better word, and I remember feeling a lil bitter because of it. But as commando said "as the demographic changes" so does everything else. Not trying to sound "butthurt" just want to keep this place fun for all ages! I mean my dads old too!:grin::grin::grin::grin::grin::grin::grin::grin::grin:
