I'm also in FL... the land of the half assed. You should see some of the crap that someone who calls themself a "professional" will put out. Professional should mean more to folks than getting paid. Most of the craftsmen I have met here learned their trade elsewhere. I have fiddled with minor locksmithing tasks before, you are correct... not rocket science. It would take a great deal of patience and possibly more than one blank to get it done I think.Then I've got lucky a few times.
How hard is it to call around to a a couple lock smiths and ask them if they know how to do that. I've watched it done a few times and it's not rocket science.
Explain the principal to anyone who's ever worked with a locksmiths files and tools (and is somehow unaware of the impressioning principal) and he can do it I'll bet if he's willing. Hell with a small bit of practice I think I could do it.
