I fought the HOA and I beat the system.

I'm really effing irked about this. Seriously, a neighbor putting their house up for sale over THIS? WTF? I never cozied up to these elitist snobs so good riddance, I guess.
Can you guys see my vision?
Jezzes H. Murphy. I'm breaking my goddam nuts on this. :BangHead:

Im not sure I understand this. You built this very nice little house behind your home and some of the neighbors are upset?
My opinion is that lille cabin looks great, my grandkids who have a ball playing out there in it.
I assume your respectful of your neighbors, you keep up your property. I have no experience with HOA's and really would want to avoid them.
I understand people not wanting. to live next to junk yards but I never felt a old car or two in a driveway that. a guy was working on was not allowed on his otherwise maintained property.
My wife is constantly on my case to keep the noise down after a certain hour and I do. My property is one of the best kept on the block. Im into planting flowers and keep the lawn perfect. But I enjoy working on any of my cars be it my 69 or servicing the newer ones in my driveway in front of the garage and I will be dammed if anyone will tell me thats not allowed

For the most part the HOA is more of a way in keeping your neighbors from having their homes and yards looking like Sanford & Son. That is the good part of the HOA. The bad part is they (HOA a-holes) think they have police powers if you violate minor rules. Just a short ride from where I live you can see homes and yards that are just totally trashed, not maintained or cleaned up at all.

Actually, the HOA has been a good thing for me and all my neighbors.
It keeps me in check and prevents me from going REALLY batshit which would anger me if I was my own neighbor.

Wait until the backhoe shows up Thursday morning.

Dropping out of old cars altogether to gardening and landscaping has saved my sanity.

BTW, it's just as expensive...

To hell with having a golf cart to drive around the neighborhood. That's a better option as long as it has a cup holder for your cocktail of choice.

Happy to see you're enjoying your retirement, doing what you want to do!

I never heard of LS tractor until the adds started playing on the radio. How does it stack up to Kubota and JD?

I'm a J D guy. So I couldn't tell you. But I looked at these and the Kabota last year, when I bought my latest JD.

All I'm saying is I bought my latest JD.

I never could understand how such HOA communities have grown in the US.
That's completely running against the General idea of the least outside interference with private affairs.

On the one Hand such interference isn't even wanted with way more important things as healthcare, on the other Hand People are voluntarily getting ruled by a bunch of laymen who stick their fingers into something I paid for with my own Money ?

I always thought the building codes and other property related laws are more than enough to swallow already.

It's a simple basic tractor. Nothing fancy. I'm not cultivating 6 acres. It's gonna save me a **** load of back breaking labor. My existence doesn't depend on moving tons of chicken ****. It's powerful, reliable, it will get my tasks done for cheap and I get a toy to play with. Every time I use Pablo's JD, I'm sold on getting one. The terms these days are stupid and dangerous. 0/0/84.
The monthly is so cheap, I'm gonna use it until I don't need it anymore and stop my Wells Fargo Bank payments. Nothing is securing this rediculous loan except the tractor.
Thanks Wells Fargo for renting me that thing so cheap, I couldn't say no. Can't go anywhere anyway so I'm down to zero on "Food, entertainment, misc, etc." and the Lincoln hasn't moved in over a month. And I think it's great.

You need food Stan? I'll drive you some up.

I think cities push developers to create HOA's. Outsourcing code enforcement and more they couldn't control via codes. 2¢

I know of several, they range from, what, we've got an HOA? to the ones you read about.

10 or 15 years ago there was great story about "dollyman" who went to war over parking enforcement in his HOA. It's too bad the settlement required him to take down almost the entire epic story. In Phoenix IIRC?

Cliffs notes:

As I told myself I'd never live in a HOA community here I am. After a year here they forced upon us that we had to pay for parking passes to park outside. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ There's over 700 homes.
Gee, I wounder why they did that?
So you have to display your pass or you get booted, by an outsider company not associated with the HOA, they just won the contract. As the schmucks drive though they look for the obvious outsiders looking to park (visitors) and boot them, and milk the cows. "That will be $140 Sir to remove the boot."
Well, it's just a long day @ work, your mind is busy, you park and don't put your pass on your rear view. They throw 2 boots on you, a large display sticker, phone # and $140 removal fee. I've parked in the same spot for 3 months, always displayed, they know the car, a extensively modified Audi parked in the same spot for 3 months with a displayed pass. It's a no brainier I have a pass.
Gee, I wounder why the pass isn't a permanent sticker?
Now, why wouldn't I always keep the pass hanging from my rearveiw? Being in the top 10 auto theft capitals in the country, I'm not comfortable DISPLAYING where I live when the community is displayed in the largest characters on the pass.
The plastered WARNING sticker on the window mentions you will be pentilzed to the fullest of law if you remove or damage the boots. So I called the cops.........only one.....but she said I can not damage the the boots, however nothing illegal about removing them.

You know the case, if you don't pay up evenly you'll get towed,so.......
I'm just going to get some f-ing dollys, install them and push the freaking Audi right into the garage you bsaterds. Give them a call to come get their num nut boots..........................and the Audi is undergoing a semi-rebuild....I don't need them off...they won't bother me keeping them on....I don't need to drive it.....a waiting game means nothing.
I own my home, they can not come on the individual property unless I grant permission, and they can not tow it as it'll be in the garage.
