I bet Graham's dealership doesn't run like this!
I'll let you know next week.Actually last year when I picked up the Challlenger, they wouldn't give me the second key fob until I could show them the registration in my name (due to audit requirements for the fleet pricing). I walked across the street to the registry office, did my paperwork and paid the money, and came back for it 10 minutes later. When I drove away, the car was registered in my name, with my plate attached.
I guarantee you that I will NEVER BUY ANOTHER CAR FROM COOK DODGE!!!
Many small towns have a registry agent, and in the two biggest cities there are 30 in each, totalling well over 200 locations, including all CAA offices. Some are really busy, and others, not so much. Also when I renew my registration at the same time as I transfer the plate, there is no fee to transfer, only the renewal charge. I will register the vehicle, transfer the plate and renew it for a grand total of $85.10 minutes????
I've been waiting 30 days so far!!!!
Happy customers tell 2 people, unhappy customers tell everyone!
Bad business model they are using IMHO
Bob who arranges New Vehicle plates/registrations in your locality? Can you do it or does it have to be done by a Dealer? Do you drive around on a TEMP registration until your new plates arrive? Here all that is needed are 4 documents:
NVIS
Bill of Sale
Proof of Insurance
Valid Driver's License
Plates are provided immediately or you transfer the plates from your trade-in to the new vehicle. Plates are registered to the person not necessarily the vehicle. My wife's plate has been on 8 different cars so far.

I just called the Finance Manager at Cook Dodge and his lame excuse for my trade not paid for is that there won't be anybody to sign the check that is going to my financial institution until Thursday and my 300 will be paid off on Friday.
They don't know what the status of my registration and title is and they will call me back when they get that figured out.
Wait.due to audit requirements for the fleet pricing
They probably already sold the 300. It's registered to two people.
Funny story. I changed my address a few weeks ago, and the clerk asked if I wanted it changed on all the vehicles. I said yes, and ended up with a new registration for the Monaco 500. Apparently someone hadn't transferred ownership yet.... It's registered to two people.
