I agree with your first assumption....the slimmy little, slack jawed, window licking mouth breather is wanting to sell the car trailer....and your ad being up hinders his ability to liquidate the trailer. What if someone was to show up to buy the stolen trailer, and they had seen you add...NO sale! and then the potential run in with law enforcement...or better yet you!

I do know a guy who recovered most of the contents of a construction trailer that was stolen...saw his paint sprayer on CL and got law enforcement involved... the sprayer seller was reselling after his use... but helped them track down more crap, after trying to cover it up... don't think criminal charges were brought either... evidence not good enough or some such crap.

Have a friend who had his place pipped off...stole his truck at the same time to load everything up. He noticed one of his bikes up for sale on CL the next day...they got his name, number and went to go get the bike. Told the police and they just shrugged and did nothing. His truck was missing for 3 weeks, after being told by the police they put a special "Attention" on the VIN. Well a neighbour of his saw it sitting across town in a residential neighbourhood with a friggin parking ticket on it! Ticket was over a week old....how is it that the vin never popped up on the special police search!

This would cause his load to break off the trailer because he was cheap and used one strap. That load would continue at speed, impacting the back of his cab and as the truck was going into the abutment; both the sudden stop and the load slamming into his worthless body would smash his skull like a grape, popping it open like a giant pus-filled zit. Of course, he would live a few more minutes in the most extreme pain imaginable, then die as s shattered, useless blob of protoplasm that he is.
