Im close to going Ford

I agree that they are nice and worthy of preservation. Having driven several when they were "new', my observation is/was that the Mopar engineering was "ahead of the pack". The Phord and Generic Motors offerings were very style and comfort oriented. Braking and handling were secondary. Just my prejudice showing!
For daily transport, I use whatever is cheap and reliable. last was an '06 Cobalt and currently an "07 Fusion.
Whatever you do, I say "It is jus for fun!" Enjoy!! Lindsay

I flew over this one here, four years ago. Reminded me of this era's Bonneville, Catalina, GP "long/low" look I liked about skirted slabbies. Never owned one.

1965 Grand Prix, 389, four speed car. Outta my range but appeared to be worth it.

Wonder how they stacked up against four speed C body contemporaries?

One of our members has (had?) another one I like but also has escalated outta my reach. the 1969-1970 Grand Prixs. Never owned one. "Long hood/short deck" as they used to say.

Oh, 1971-1972 single headlight GP's too. If this one ever came up, I'd have to figure out a way to compete for it. Also, never owned one.

I have a hidden passion for the 67 Ford Galaxie 500. It comes from the car my dad had before his first Dodge. As a teen There was a local convertible that I wanted. If the guy had sold it to me I would have been a Ford guy and I'd have known none of yous (Jersey vernacular).
If I can't locate a 70/71 Polara soon I may cross the line.

My two cents.
I have owned a two 68 Furys coverts, 68 383 Roadrunner.
A 68 GTX, 70 V code A-34 Roadrunner,
70 GTX, 70 Coronet R/T A-34, 69 Daytona, A-33 V code Superbird many 63-64 Dodges and Plymouths. I have loved them all.
…but this one is quiet, doesn’t rattle, doesn’t shake at high speeds and is very comfortable and corners well.

How about going malaise era with a '77 Granada? I've always liked these, and we had one in the family at one point - my Grandpa owned one. The interior had a very distinct, rich aroma I can recall from when I was a kid.

A 75 Granada was test driven along with a 75 Coronet. The 71 Polara came home and voila, Polara Dave was born.

Life is too short to not drive what you want.

1964 Studebaker Commander Special R1 V8, 4-speed, Twin-Lock differential, Disc brakes, H/D suspension.

Pretty fun machine.

There's a few cars out there that I would own if I wasn't a Mopar guy.

Near the top of the list are 3rd (61-63) and 4th (64-66) gen Thunderbirds. This belongs to a guy I know and shares a garage with a '58 Ford Skyliner.

I made the switch to Fords for my daily drivers a while ago.

My 78 Grand Marquis pulls itself out of its parking spot opens its doors all by itself.
