Old Man with a Hat
Wish I had you nearby. I could learn a lot!
Thanks for posting these pictures. I plan on swapping out my bent stub frame for a good spare one I have on my '67 Fury 4 door hardtop and your photos are most informative.Parting out the stub frame, engine and so on..
Everything was so oily and greasy , thick layer everywhere. Reason for this was broken harmonic balancer , and I think this is from a factory. Next job was damaged "K-beam " repair with 3 mm sheet metal, this time with supporting metal bars. This car really need total repairing everywhere ..
Regards,
Mika

Yes it is. I am mainly interested in how you supported the rear part of the frame when you moved it. I plan to fabricate a dolly and fasten to the rear of my frame. The front part will have the wheels on it like you have. Great work you are doing. You are welcome, but remember that Imperial stub frame is different than other C bodies..

Mika
Yes, that is pretty much what I will do as well. I have some nice swivel 8" rubber castors that should work fine. I will be removing the frame, engine, and transmission as a whole like you have here. Thank you for the photo. Did you fabricate the straps that fastened the the cross member to the 2x6?Here is what I did for stub mobility. I moved it around my garage this way for years.
Castors mounted to a 2x6 and square Steps around the rear cross member to secure. I moved it up and down ramps with this as well. View attachment 567873
No I found them at the hardware store. I think they were 4x4 post straps. I probably have them around here somewhere. I can get better pictures.Yes, that is pretty much what I will do as well. Like I said, everything needs repairing...even trunk lid lock. Lock was so worn out because of the bad welded hinge basement. So, a little welding, grinding, blasting with steel beads and painting with special stainless steel paint ( zinc plating is impossible without disassembly the lock).
