Is a 70 service manual basically the same as a 69 service manual? Also looking for a good RH mirror and crate engine builder...

I just spent some time chasing down the correct mirror for my car. Which one do you need? A photo would help source this.
Thanks mate - will send through a photo shortly.... The mirror itself is okay, it just get's blown out of position by the wind over about 40 mp/h...

In general there is a fair amount of common material, but depending on the topic, the vehicle, the changes, and the years involved, a lot can differ. With items that carry over, or have been the same over years, and did not happen to change much, or at all, using a non specific manual can be better than having none at all.

When I first started working on cars at eight years old, my father handed me his 1962 Motors Manual. I used that as my primary reference on a 1964 valiant, a 1968 Sport Satellite, a 1966 Coronet station wagon, a 1973 Duster, a 1970 Duster (my first car), and others. Later I was poring over the automotive manuals at my high school and at our local public (they even had some Chrysler factory service manuals!). When I got my second car, a 1970 Challenger T/A, I picked up a model specific Chilton's manual then a brand new 1970 Challenger/Coronet/Dart factory service manual from the dealer. One can make do with something close for some things, but a specific manual for the vehicle at hand is indeed better.

Although a 1970 manual can be used for much on the 1969 vehicle, one will eventually run across an area that it won't serve. It's advisable to get the appropriate manual for the vehicle when one can. Some things can be found online, but I like having my paper documentation at hand.

Nowadays, I have factory service manuals and parts catalogs for my cars, and some others, plus much Chrysler literature on multiple topics and vehicles, general Chrysler catalogs, Chrysler Service Highlights, Chrysler Technical Service bulletins, sales literature and a multitude of general automotive texts and manuals, aftermarket parts catalogs, etc.

Here's most, but not all, of my factory service manuals, Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs), and factory parts catalogs, ranging from the late 50s into the 90s;
