I guess 18 months is a long enough hiatus from here. I’m back! And I bring presents for Delmae, as today is her 53rd birthday.
In July I bought a nice, barely used, 2022 Ram 1500 to become my daily driver and allow me to expand my travel radius immensely. Beginning of the new year I made it my goal to take a trip out west to visit
@71Polara383 because I knew he had what I needed and wasn’t afraid to slice and dice a car. So that’s what I did- Thursday morning I left home and went west. Friday morning I left the hotel and had to make a quick stop at Delmae’s birthplace…
…then proceeded on to Wyatt’s shop where we loaded the back of the truck with a pair of A-pillars, rear frame rails, heater box/firewall patch piece, and some subframe/core support bushings (along with some other C body stuff that I’m delivering to a gentleman at Chrysler Nationals in July). I knew I should’ve held off for one with a longer bed (had to cut the frame rails to get them to fit and the tonneau cover had to be kept up the entire drive home, meaning no rear window visibility).
Then afterwards, I drove into the land of cheeseheads and stopped by
@70 Sport Suburban to drop off his S/23 bumper I picked up for him from a guy in Carlisle, and brought home a 140 mph speedo for the cherry on top of Delmae’s cake. Not bad for 3 days and 2008 miles (as I type this, I’ve been home for an hour).
Delmae still is sitting in the same spot in same condition as the last post I made. Once I finish the Shelby Dakota, it’ll be her turn. Fingers crossed, this winter is when the rust gets fixed.
