It's Over

Congratulations Mark! That is a very nice car!!!

I have a significant % of the 70 Polara ragtop pics since Dave gave me a CD a few years back. I don't think its on that CD. I wouldn't be surprised if Dave knew about the car but just didn't have the details. Nice score. Solid 440 bucket seat car...I'm jealous.

It's now in my shop next to my Imperial. I took some pics but don't have my transfer cord with me now so those will have to wait till tomorrow when I get back to the shop.
Jer if you want to see this one in person befor mark does you will need to come by my shop, it has no plate on it and at least 15 year old tires so I won't be responsible for anything more then a couple of burnout s on the street next to my building! I'll be taking my Challenger to the show on Sunday, will I see you there?

I don't think Dave knew about this one did he Mark?

Matt, I'll be there in 2 hours. Pick me at the airport and we can commence to doing massive burnouts with Matt's car on the runway! LOL!!!

It's a great car and with the exception of a little bodywork and a repaint 15+ years ago, its unrestored. I forgot to tell you Mark that when I went back to look at it the second time and was looking for evidence of your missing emblems I saw that the grease was sprayed inside the structure of the trunk lid as well behind the rear seam. Good stuff!!

what i like is the fact it has the window sticker........btw, E85 is the 350 horse 440, not the HP (I don't think the 440 HP was avail on the '70 Polaras). Ya can't have everything, I guess.

Fred, I sent dave the info, I do not think he knew of this car. Now my biggest problem after it gets here will be figuring out where to get ww tires from. I want the samer thin style that is on the car but nobody seems ot have them and i'm not paying coker 272/tire.

excellent........prob what saved this car from rotting (along with the garage). Grease can be wiped off, rust can't.

If Jer shows up make sure he puts a St. Pauli Girl in the glove box for me..........the one he was supp to open for me @ Carlisle but we never got around to it. :)

Mike, The Motor City has been sinking deeper into that hole for the better part of 60 years. Has something to do with the: I'M GONNA GET MINE FROM THE POPULATION ATTITUDE OF EVERY MAYOR THE LOCALS HAVE VOTED IN OVER THOSE 60 YEARS AND THEY KEEP VOTING THOSE LOOSERS? IN! The last Mayor has been in Milan federal lock up for the last few months 'cuz the Feds didn't trust him to walk the streets after his conviction 'til he gets sentanced to 30 years in about 6 weeks after being convicted of Racketeering, Fraud, Money Laundering, and on and on! As for the salt under the city, The Detroit entrance was closed 45-50 years ago. Seams they could import it from Cleveland cheaper then mine it for free? The hole is still there and if memory serves I think they left several D-8 Cats and a bunch more equpment down there when they closed it up! Need I say more. Wish for once I could say just one thing positive about a city that has gone from something over Two Million to somewhere around 600K in those same years. Makes yeah wanna Barf don't it?

It was terrible seeing the urban blight when I was in the Motor City last year visiting Matt. The same thing is happening in Baltimore, Milwaukee and most big cities. Seeing the Chrysler Museum and riding on Woodward Ave with Matt was just outstanding. I bet the Woodward Ave. Cruise is still a spectacular event for the Motor City!!! I believe the Motor City will rise again after the dust settles.....

I thought the "Imported from Detroit" message/video Eminem did during the Super Bowl was cool.

Congrats on an awesome car! For the new guys such as myself that don't know everyone real well, will you be keeping her as is or a full resto?
