what i like is the fact it has the window sticker........btw, E85 is the 350 horse 440, not the HP (I don't think the 440 HP was avail on the '70 Polaras). Ya can't have everything, I guess.

Fred, I sent dave the info, I do not think he knew of this car. Now my biggest problem after it gets here will be figuring out where to get ww tires from. I want the samer thin style that is on the car but nobody seems ot have them and i'm not paying coker 272/tire.

Cooper Trendsetters have the same white wall, $498 out the door on my Imperial last November. Let me know if you can't get that deal in PA, I'll hook you up.

Yep. Cooper Trendsetters. 100 bucks each plus balancing, tax...

Don't think for a minute that I wasn't hoping that you were going to pull a Seinfeld on this car. If you passed on it I would still be posting these same pics!

I think it's been determined that its not, Detroit since new and ordered by the grandfather of the guy Mark bought it from. It is missing the headrests though...

Wow! Two outstanding cars!!!!

It was brought to my attention by a car friend of mine, he found it online. it is wht/wht top and blk interior.

I figured Dave would be in to congratulate me, but I guess he doesn't care about 1970 polara 440 convertibles. :-(

Ouch, yeah, ahh yeah, let me be the 8th or 9th to congratulate you ......

Where is Dave anyway???

I have a significant % of the 70 Polara ragtop pics since Dave gave me a CD a few years back. I don't think its on that CD. I wouldn't be surprised if Dave knew about the car but just didn't have the details. Nice score. Solid 440 bucket seat car...I'm jealous.

I don't think Dave knew about this one did he Mark?

Nope, this one has been hidden away for many years. Interestingly optioned too. The lack of A/C makes sense being a Detroit car.

and Nick the "T" is the 350 horse 440

And there he is!!!

Very nice. Wonder if this is the missing Rose Bowl parade car...

No Fred, it is not. The missing headrests are indicative of a parade car but the other cars were built in October this one was built in April similarly opted but has no A/C and needs a Q in the order number. All of those had sequential VINS and VONS.

In the hospital yesterday, I turned 47 last week and my body has given up all hope of a future. Please keep this thread on track for Marks accolades.

So Dave..........what are your thoughts on this one? Anything you see that hasn't been discovered so far on this car?

Mark and I have communicated about this car extensively, I am sure only half of what Matt and Mark did though. Matt has the car and has been over it first hand, he's the guy to ask.

From what I see, its a great driver, not over the top where Mark cant enjoy it. It has disc brakes, a 440 and buckets, thats what Mark wanted, He also wanted an original car, how many can be left? You cant special order them 40 years after their built, fortunately I learned my lessons twelve years ago

Congrats on an awesome car! For the new guys such as myself that don't know everyone real well, will you be keeping her as is or a full resto?
I anticipate a full resto at some point, but for now as-is

Based on Mark's comment a few days ago about keeping verts out of the rain and stored in garages.......I bet there are still a lot more than 10% of these (is it 842 of these produced?) that survived and are still undiscovered across the USA just as Mark's car was waiting to be discovered. Same situation......was Grandpa's car!
