Have a couple of HUGE 'pick ur parts' salvage places by me. Cost is 3 bucks to get in, (free today), take your tools and walk for hours lol. The one I go to is just a couple miles from me. Cars put into sections like SUV/Truck, foreign and domestic cars. Mostly newer stuff like 90s on up. Once in awhile older 60s/70s and 80s stuff.

Picked up a scissors jack, (made in Canada), out of a 85 Caddy, and tire iron out of a Lincoln Navigator. 6 bucks, looks new.

My 300 didn't come with jack, so needed something 'just in case'. Figured a mid 80s Caddy would be close in weight. This scissors jack is way bigger than what came in some of the mid size cars.

I think it would be a cool hobby to pick some of the smaller parts like fuses/relays/switches etc and sell on ebay. There was a guy there today with a shopping cart full of wiring harnesses. Said he sells on ebay and CL. Anyways lol I'm done for the day.

Good choice man. My bumper jack is an accident waiting to happen. I use a scissor jack I stole out of our Sebring conv when we got rid of it. It works way better than the bumper jack. That caddy ones gotta be way stouter than the Sebring one. But then again free is alright by me...

Nice find, the junkyards in my area take the jacks out before they go into the yard, for liability reasons. That one looks to be never
used, also that is the longest factory tire iron I have ever seen! I've helped several stranded motorists in newer vehicles trying to get their likely air impacted aluminum wheel off with a ten inch long wrench from the factory kit, good luck with that. One time I was using my factory bumper jack in my driveway, just a practice dry run, once I had it raised one of my older neighbours driving down the alley stopped to say that seeing me use that type of jack brought back bad memories. The "widowmaker" he called it. I don't think that's an appropriate name, as only a fool would get under a car only supported by one of those.

Not that I'm endorsing these actual products, but a cheap small jack and 4 way is a very flexible road trip kit, with multiple vehicles and trailers... I have a couple of these setups I hope to never use.

Todays finds! lol Wasn't looking for pulleys, just an antenna mast. Stumbled across a '87 Dodge Dakota. I'm currently adding AC to my non AC car. I have everything, but found a set of AC pulleys on this Dakota, just to have. Thought to myself that 4 groove sure looks like would go on my 440. I also grabbed two 57" belts from same truck. Worn, but using to mock up my new/added AC. 57" is just right! will order new ones. And I think I can make that metal fuel line work too. Grabbed a bunch of miscellaneous bolts/nuts too. Thermostat neck was just as bad as mine, so I passed on it. Three bucks to get in, and 25 bucks for all the parts. All in for $28, not too bad.
