Just got the car today a 63 Chrysler New Yorker and have a few questions.

I looked at the tank today and it looks like I can remove the sender without removing the tank. I might have to lower the tank a little but the sending unit is in the front of the tank and looks accessible. That was good to see, so maybe it won't be too hard to remove it. It also looked like it was worked on, it had some newer hoses on it and looks like it was undercoated recently and the nuts and bolts on the straps looked cleaner.
 
Did you get your gauge working? I just got a 63 windsor with the same red interior my fuel gauge doesn't work either. My mom had the 64 300 when I was growing up.
