"Little (blood) Red" Gets Her Own Thread (Too)

Looking good Doc! Just as a suggestion, make sure you check the motor mounts. When I replaced the leaky box on Old Red, I found that the leaking power steering fluid softened up the motor mount rubber to a squishy gelatin. I replaced both sides, and it made the installation of the box so look much easier when the engine was at the proper height. They were only like $5 bucks each and we'll worth it!. I fought like hell to get the box out, but after I changed the mount, the new box went in easy breezy. Lesson learned.
The motor mount on the driver side wasn't too bad to change but one on the passenger side was a bear! I thought it would've been the other way around but noooooo! Lol .... that's what I get for thinking!

Kenny did you have any trouble getting a steering box? I got one for 125.00. There was a high end one for 600.00 out of stock.

No problem at all. Napa had it...one day delivery. Sounds like a good price. I can't remember what I paid. You should have a record of it.
Get her done!

I've said it before on the site... that "Firm Feel" is a bunch of hooey. I thought about getting one of those for Old Red, but decided it was a waste. My '79 300 has that from the factory. I can't tell the difference. After I put the box in Old Red, it felt perfect. Just like new. These guys make you think you're going to get a rack and pinion feel from a car this size, they're sadly mistaken. Better to spend the extra cash on your paint job, in my opinion.
You made the right choice.

One of the few things about Illinois that is any good...
Collector (AV) plates are 35$ .......
For a FIVE year plate......

There is a new AE plate which is 55$ per year...
Reg plates start at 101$ .....

So that's where you found Old Red...
Thought you knew Santa got it for me from Pennsylvania...

Yes I remember the newer DMV clerk being nervous and took almost an hour to fill out the app...he was very detail oriented and pleasant. I bet they get beat up everyday by the public. I sent him a thank you/great job email afterwards. Rather kill em with kindness...maybe he pushed it thru faster..maybe coincidental ...I'll never know.

I don'kno Doc seems the 'Stance' is sitting a little low in the rear. Springs next?
Or do we need to go and start another multi-page air shock thread?

I have air shocks on the 500, if you want them, I have a set of KYB's waiting to go in. I'll even give you the plastic air lines!
