I'm looking for suggestions on a good floor jack. Must be capable of lifting my Ram. My floor jack is getting older and I want to replace it before the old one pukes. Anyone have a recommendation on a quality jack?

Thanks.

JUST bought one.
I looked everywhere for the best deal.
Harbor Freight. 3 TON low profile quick pump steel. $84.00.
Lifts my 5,000 NYB like it was a Tonka Toy.
Yes, Harbor Freight. Chinese. I know. Everybody's is Chinese now. No way around it.

Thanks for the quick reply, I'll check it out.

You can always have your old one rebuilt.

That's what I intend to do with mine... But after 35 years or so, it still seems to be doing OK.

There were no Chinese floor jacks 35 years ago.
I expect to replace the seals on this new one maybe 8-9 years from now.
Or buy a new one made in Ethiopia for $29.00

Exactly.

Sometimes you can find a used jack and have it rebuilt. Mine is one I bought at Sears way back when.

The Harbor Fright jacks have a pretty good reputation though. If I had to buy new, I'd take a look at them.

Another Harbor Freight delivery...

ASSEMBLED in the USA. Not made... assembled. Nice way of saying "made from offshore stuff"

Well sure, but if Chevy, Ford, and Dodge can assemble off shore and still be called American, this has got to be just as good... :p But again, I have no problem buying China, never ever said I did. Once craftsman hand tools went chinese years ago it was all over. Hell I'll buy mexican, Japanese, haitian, whatever it takes to get the job done.

You would be very surprised at how much stuff for the foreign cars are made in the USA and shipped overseas.

Thanks,
Even though it's only assembled here, it still gets great reviews and it's supporting an American company and assembled, quality checked, and serviced by American workers. I think I'm going to pull the trigger on this one, according to Chrysler my truck weighs over 6 1/2 ton. With my prime account, free shipping.

Good on you! I hope it's the best damned jack you've ever used.

And not one bit of that is sarcasm, really.

I don't know if I wanna crawl under a 6 1/2 ton truck with nothing between it and my brain but a piece of government plastic.

Wait, I just caught that, 6.5 ton? 13K pounds? For a Cummins 2500? I would have thought closer to 4 ton.

Correction, 3 1/4 to 3 1/2 ton truck.....what can I say, I'm an idiot and math sucks. lol
