Medina, a 1971 T-code Monaco

We did have to get a deck lid from DVAP as the original one was very rusty under the lip. Also I had my upholstery guy install a Legendary vinyl top that @ayilar provided. And a new windshield.

I asked @azblackhemi to post photos of the finished product and of how he got there, so that everyone could see what the situation was underneath the moldings and how it was fixed. I like everything to be known about my cars, so that if anyone ever buys any of them then they know exactly what they are getting.

PS: That's it for the rust -- there was none other. My hope is therefore that the car will be good for another 50 years :-)

Medina is now ready for GY9 showtime. @azblackhemi will be posting photos in this thread soon. :thankyou:

PS: Here's a teaser :)

This is a amazing transformation. I hope you can bring it to Carlisle in July. Fantastic paint work. Show quality work. @azblackhemi your paint skills are simply amazing. Congrats, Michel is show quality at its best. Enjoy

When I was looking for a painter for the Boab years ago I thought about asking Chris but the logistic$ from Canada would have been impossible.

You on the other hand, had the balls to do it.

A great collaboration of everybody involved.

It's not easy to paint a car thats 19 feet long and look straight!
Chris did an excellent job and I love the original color.
Hoping to see Medina in the flesh once again in the near future wearing her new digs!

Two additional updates:

1. the trunk rubber strip will be replaced by correct new material from Steele Rubber (details of what I bought here);
2. the hood insulation pad and retaining clips will be replaced by correct reproductions from MotorMall (details of what I bought here).

The next two photos show what was left of Medina's original pad, and the shape of the original trunk weatherstrip, before restoration:
