Well, @71Polara383 picked up tires for Ming today. My usual, Hankook Optimo H724 235/75 R15 WWs. The price was $33/tire higher than what I paid for Medina last year. I had been hoping for a price drop in the past month, but no such luck — so I bit the bullet. Ouch.
Here are a couple of photos of Ming with her good-looking but old tires, saying goodbye to Elsie -- who is off to Wisconsin.

I'm a bit late to the party, so I offer belated congratulations on a great purchase. Sounds like you went through a similar thought process to me when I bought my '73 New Yorker. I too wasn't a big fan of the styling of the 73's, but it was so unusual that the car wasn't green or brown or tan that I had to buy it. I've been searching my memory to see if I can remember seeing a '72 or '73 Chrysler New Yorker in A5 before, but so far I'm drawing a blank. The color really does suit the car well.

The color is really extraordinary, timeless.
Sometimes you get the impression that there are only browns or greens ...
Two questions please:
Does the car have the sentinel-lights control? Mine has it and works great.
Have you ever heard of or seen one of the rare Electrical Security Alarm System by Chrysler?
My NY has one, but I had to disconnect it because the hood contacts were broken.

OK folks, lunch break: @71Polara383 and I have started bringing Ming back to the road where she belongs, so I have some news to report.
First things first, the engine is numbers-matching (yes! that was the most important thing for me) but the transmission is not. At least, the trans on her now is a 1973 unit: it came from a car that was built before her (143134 vs. 258657) and in a different plant (Belvedere vs. Jefferson Ave.).

That was the main reason why I bought my car, that the engine and the gearbox are number matching, despite all the other defects. Built on April 18th in Jefferson Ave. Have you already checked which axle ratio is installed on your?

Sounds like your car has just about every available option. Wonder if it was a dealer demo?

Back in the 1970's and probably into the early 80's the big chain transmission shops like AMMCO often swapped your trans with one sitting on the shelf ready to go, instead of rebuilding the one that came out of the car. They didn't pay much attention to what engine the trans came off of either. Can't tell you how many 440 cars I've seen with 383 transmissions on them. Not that there's a huge difference, but the number of springs in the clutch packs were usually specific to each engine.

That could be. Unfortunately, the history of the vehicle is very incomplete, only the dealer plaque is there, not as usual on the trunk lid, but on the rear shelf, Chuck Hutton, Memphis.
Now that Carlisle is over, Ming is going to get some more attention. The original TQ is back from @Dana, and @71Polara383 will be installing it today. Next is a complete tune-up and a brake service.
I also bought a very nice re-chromed rear bumper from @58Desoto that is getting picked up this weekend and hopefully will be installed before the 4th Midwest Show.Assuming quarantines do not start messing up interstate travel (cue NY vs. OH), my plan is still to bring her there

Not yet. But I think I'll do it at some point, just to see if I like the car that way.
