Mice and wiring

They plowed the corn field across the street and I'm wondering if they came from there.
I remember when I was growing up in horseheads, when they mowed the fields around our elementary school the mice would get in the school!!, field day for us boys!

I mowed the pasture / yard on the north side of the shop yesterday and I saw several mice running around in the grass.

So, to add insult to injury, I recently planted the tomato plants. Went to water, and a mole had grabbed one plant and pulled it under ground.....never seen that. But, just adds to my thoughts on rats.....ratz.

Seen moles pull all kinds of vegetables down in the garden

My 85 year old mother in upstate new york still plants bulb flowers and can tell you all about them 'damn moles'! She fights them every year!

I traded my mice trouble for cat trouble. There were two cats hanging around outside one of my shops. And since I like most animals, and I thought it might help my mouse problem, brainy me decided to feed them now and then. Since they were males, I wasn't worried about a population explosion. Well, it turns out that there was an old gal up the road that had a bunch of cats, she died, and I guess I inherited most of her herd. I've spent the last year, and several thousand dollars, spaying and neutering. My wife liked one litter of 3, so they now live at our house, we already had one at home. And found a home for 1 older tame guy. So now there are only TWELVE hanging out at my shop.

My neighbor has farm cats and it’s going to remain this way until I expire.
One never owns cats.

I bought Fresh Cab mouse repellent from Tractor Supply. They look like big teabags and smell good but mice don't like it. I put them in my shop and camper. Also under the hood, under the seat, and in the trunk of my Newport. They seem to work great! The problem with baited taps is you're drawing the mice where you don't want them instead of forcing them away.

I mentioned the metal wire loom before, but have used more of it now. It is great....looks good and installs well. Much nicer and easier than the best loom I got from the wire harness maker. Yes, not made here, but neither are the fuel pumps, suspension or brake parts, et al. But, I can say, this is one of the best decisions....and will deter the chewing, if you can get it where you want it. Maybe the single con is that when you cut it, it tends to fray a bit, but so do the cloth variants too. I would like to ask folks about wires under the dash.....have you had problems with lunching on wires under the dash.....am hoping not, as they would be impossible to cover.
