MOPAR NOS 1970-71 Fury Chrysler 300 Polara 1971 Imperial washer bottle, 3431154

So this has presented me with a moral dilemma. I have been looking for this part for myself and one other member for some time. If I bid on it I now realize I will be bidding against some of you fine fellas. So do I go all in or back away and leave it to one more deserving from this group? Keeping in mind that backing away is contrary behaviour for my line of work normally. (Clubbing baby seals who wander into my store) Hence the dilemma.

Well, that's easy, fight to the death.

There's already hankie-painkie. Top bidder has zero feedback.
Good gawd, Jim. I'm a doctor. Not a seller.

So this has presented me with a moral dilemma.
Just be open about it. If you need it, bid to win. If you merely want it, let the others contact you after you bid.

I was the first bidder then I got outbid two mins later, i am not bothering to bid higher, I think I know where this is going. I'm out.

Anyone who has to have it is simply going to have to plug in the highest price they can live with from the git-go and sit it out. Can't do anything more than that.

If it's worth $150.00 to you and the seller shills it up from 50 to 149, you'll still getting something that's worth it. So you couldn't steal it.

This is what I am afraid of. I think I will watch and see what happens. it's running for another week yet so anything can and likely will happen....in the last 30 seconds of course ....stupid feebay.

NOS parts at reasonable prices are still out there if you keep an eye out...I snagged one of these for my Polara last week for $76 on ebay.

I bought one from Murray. Not cheap, and it was the only one he had. I absolutely need an original in order to qualify for historical vehicle registry. If I do, I will save many times over in taxes.

That's interesting... I knew some places taxed a vehicle regularly, but never heard of a government requiring that kind of attention to detail.

It's not the government, it's the historic vehicle inspectors. They can be pretty picky. Every part in the car has to be good original, or restored to original condition.

OK... And if they accept your car, the government lets you have a tax break? sounds worth doing, or at least trying. How bad are the taxes without that exemption?

Sounds even harder than our German diehard inspectors.

I think that's mostly "pie in the sky" thinking, cars change over time. My Fury was delivered buried under a thick layer of Ziebart under coat. Every enclosed space had holes drilled, Ziebart sprayed in and then had little yellow plugs for the holes. The historically correct dudes would freak seeing that, but never the less, that was how the car was delivered. Within the first year the car had different plugs, points and had a CD ignition. What would the historical dudes do with that? My car was restored for my enjoyment and as parts were accumulated zero thought was directed at appeasing some judge. In fact should the day ever arise where I compromise my beliefs for those of some judge, it will be the day I unload the Fury and buy a big *** boat.

Ha - I don't need it for that kind of money. For maybe $20 I'd put a bottle of bug juice in the trunk and run a little hose up to the pump. Should work, my Jeep has a long hose running back to the rear window washer and that works just fine.
