I took advantage of the car being covered up to paint the engine

Just got the newly redone dash pad back from Just Dashes, correct stitching, speaker punching and color.

With the engine and transmission ready to install it was put back on the frame.

I needed to use another strap to keep it from spinning.

Waisted no time getting it in place, for some reason the body didn't want to drop to the frame, turned out it was hanging up on the brake line on the rocker.

Got most of the refinished parts back on the engine.

With some work on the windshield frame I needed to locate the clip holes, the trim had notches where they needed to go.

Getting there

Starting to look like a car again

The floor was sanded, primed and painted.

A correct booster was sourced and sent to Booster Dewey

The AC harness needed some repair, I had a few to pick from.

I made an adapter plate to mount an amp to the original 4x10 speaker location, new 3.5s will go in the factory outboard positions

An adapter plate was made to mount two 4" in the rear speaker location

The original panel was refinished

The rebuilt AC harness, I chose to eliminate the compressor wire connector and make the with part of the harness, that part of the original harness was where some of the repair was

Incredible work! Hope you didn’t forget that fuel line through the stub frame. It was a insane getting it snaked through with the engine in place.

Stuck me odd there was the pin and sleeve single wire connector on the AC compressor wire as well. Planned on eliminating it as well. Any notin why it is there? Assembly ease for the compressor at the factory?

I assumed ease of integration of the frame and engine assembly to the body "body drop", they are not fishing a wire through at that time, let the engine dress up people do it. The bullet connector was broken off the harness and was the main problem with this harness, that and the tape was worn at the grommet.

Pretty much up to current with this last group.

The 500 trim was painted, no more polished trim, it does have a much different look on the B9 blue, I did think for a short bit about doing it in dark argent.

Trunk trim, taillights and bumper.

Grill was painted, once again it was fully polished, much better painted. Still need to do the bezels and get the lamps in.
Super-lite, turn lights and bumper. I have chosen not to put the Spring Special trim back on, A I don't like it, B I do not feel it was original to the car.

Left wheel liner and cruise control.

AC box and recirculating duct.

Right wheel liner and heater control valves.

My next big projects are the dash assembly and doors. Little stuff, press new studs in one of the rotors and finish the brakes.
The big hold up right now is electrical, M&H is doing the body harness along with the forward lamp and engine harnesses, without the body harness I cannot put the carpet and seats in.

I do not feel it was original to my car. Being a Dealer Demonstrator I can see it having been added when the car was sold.

I also chose not to put the bumper guards back on, don't care for them, fronts are sort of ok, rears just don't work for me.

Simply, I do not like them.

Here I go again. Even though it has been over a year I have been working on the car.
Some of the interior parts had to be replaced and the replacements were different colors. When i had the dash pad done I got some additional paint to do the rest of the interior parts.

With the dash frame painted assembly could start.

Mixed in with that was cleaning up the power window harness. The gromets were painted black as they had been painted blue on one of the previous paint jobs. The harness was rewrapped in friction tape, getting the grommets back in place took some work.

One thing I added was the courtesy light and lighter to the rear of the console, to do this I will need to combine the two harness that I had.

The dash was finally all together and ready to put in the car. Not to take and chances I put a folded up blanket over the console brackets to protect the dash from an accident.

With help on hand the dash was put in.

Then spent some time getting everything plugged in and tucked away.

Seatbelts and passenger seat.

On to the console, I opted to use the earlier top and shifter.

The steering column was next, as always I work alone, a box takes place of the second set of hands.

Then the drivers seat.

Under hood time, AC lines, vacuum lines and electrical.

The original door wedges were cleaned up.

Both doors were loaded.
