My Barrett-Jackson rant

I like watching the automotive eye candy but usually only when my wife isn't around since she can't stand the auctioneer's voice. Some of the bidder assistants are nice too...

This actually was the case as defined by the original Option package for the 64 Cutlass/F85 which had a 330 cu.in. engine and solely a four Speed Manual transmission. They changed that Definition in 65 when the 442 got a 400 cu.in. engine with different transmissions in the lineup to 400 cu.in, 4 Barrel carb, dual exhaust.

Mr Joy said 4 speed, 4 barrel & dual exhaust for the original era cars & 4 cylinder, 4 cams on the 90's Olds Calis.
The Olds Calais quad 4 was a 4 cylinder, 4 valve, 2 cam engine, maybe that's the 442 call out. I know you had the 4 cylinder part already

You even could get a 4dr. sedan in the first year of the Option, no idea if any of the supposed 10 built cars survived however.

Going to Barrett Jackson is one of my favorite thing to do every year. Watching it on TV is one of my least favorite.[/QUOTE

Agree. One of the brothers lives in Scottsdale and we’ve been to Barrett a couple times. Spend most of our time out in the lot looking at the affordable rides. Seldom ever enter the tent for the auction. The cars i’d be interested in seldom cross the block on tv. Deals could be had out in the lot.

The first 4-4-2's also came with a 3 spd manual as standard.
I couldn't find anything that said a 3-speed manual trans. was available on the '64 442, I did find that it could be had on the '65's, which was also when they changed to a 400 ci. engine, and changed what "442" stood for.

Forget the vettes, what’s with all this Olds talk here???:wtf:

B-J has really gone downhill. I think they had more Corvettes and Mustangs on last night than were actually produced. So damn boring. And, they all brought retarded money!
Listening to all that mindless drivel.... Arghhhh! The only redeeming value on last night was the "***-Cam" that they had on that girl that put the sold stickers on the cars!
I truly doubt I'll ever watch it again.
