I like watching the automotive eye candy but usually only when my wife isn't around since she can't stand the auctioneer's voice. Some of the bidder assistants are nice too...

Thanks for the correction.4-bbl., 4-speed, dual exhaust.
The first 442's didn't have 400's.
The first 4-4-2's also came with a 3 spd manual as standard.4-bbl., 4-speed, dual exhaust.
The first 442's didn't have 400's.
As did the GTO.The first 4-4-2's also came with a 3 spd manual as standard.
Thank you for backing me up.to 400 cu.in, 4 Barrel carb, dual exhaust.
The Olds Calais quad 4 was a 4 cylinder, 4 valve, 2 cam engine, maybe that's the 442 call out. I know you had the 4 cylinder part alreadyMr Joy said 4 speed, 4 barrel & dual exhaust for the original era cars & 4 cylinder, 4 cams on the 90's Olds Calis.
I remember hearing that, but have never seen one.View attachment 163523
You even could get a 4dr. sedan in the first year of the Option, no idea if any of the supposed 10 built cars survived however.
Going to Barrett Jackson is one of my favorite thing to do every year. Watching it on TV is one of my least favorite.[/QUOTE
Agree. One of the brothers lives in Scottsdale and we’ve been to Barrett a couple times. Spend most of our time out in the lot looking at the affordable rides. Seldom ever enter the tent for the auction. The cars i’d be interested in seldom cross the block on tv. Deals could be had out in the lot.
I couldn't find anything that said a 3-speed manual trans. was available on the '64 442, I did find that it could be had on the '65's, which was also when they changed to a 400 ci. engine, and changed what "442" stood for.The first 4-4-2's also came with a 3 spd manual as standard.
