My new `67 Imperial Crown Coupe!

The guy from Israel who had that real bad luck with the other Mopar that was dropped with the overseas container in the sea got the Imperial as a replacement.

Yep, Hemi is his name & he loves the car. No drama whatsoever.

So Matt how is the car now did you catch up on work so you can finish for nats I really want to see that car. I'll have my challenger there and the a/c is working so Mrs. B.B.D. will be happy

I'm plugging away at it. Took my Challenger up north last weekend with my girl and it needed a days worth of work before going. Now I'm playing client work catch up but it should be ready to go. I'll keep you guys in the loop, thanks for checking.
i guess I do have an update though, my radio modernization conversion is done and I picked that up as well as a new fuel sending unit assembly and replacement windshield washer reservoir. Now all I need is some time.

Did you convert your original radio or did you put a modern unit in it?

Converted the original, or actually left the original alone and converted a spare. Now has modern innards including a jack for MP3 and an amp. Also made up a new pair of 3" speakers to fit where the speaker is in the dash.

There was a fellow at Carlisle, Row M, that offered that same conversion. He had a 60's mopar radio demo unit with the top removed set up and operating at his vendor space. Interesting...... The radio is completely gutted except for the tuner and a small curcuit board which does all the work. $395.00 for the conversion.

It literally doesn't look any different externally. The only difference is an 1/8" hole was drilled in the upper right corner of the dial where an led shows through in different colors depending on what mode it's in. I had an extra AM and an AM/FM that came with the car, the original AM that's in the car works great so I didn't really want to mess with it and it turns out that the AM/FM unit that I have appears to be for a '68 as it looks just a bit different. The extra AM was the best bet although I did have him fix up the AM/FM unit for me so I could sell it and recoup some of the cost of the conversion. Eventually I'll put an amp and a sub in it when my pocket book recovers from all the Imperial love lately.I found a local guy here that does the conversions, I'll post up more details and his contact info in the next couple days.

Where is the jack for the MP3 located?

On the back there's a jack.

So is the MP3 cable permanently hanging somewhere so you can plug it in to your device?

He's been there as long as I can remember

I'll keep a cable plugged in and route it somewhere that it can live and be out of site but convenient.

The radio in my car was converted by him. Works great and I use it with my XM radio all the time.
